"...& Nobody Else" Question
« on: August 10, 2012, 01:21:46 AM »
So in his introduction to "Vengeance" on the "...& Nobody Else" album, Justin dedicates the song to the crowd "especially after what happened last week in Leipzig".  I was always kinda curious what that referred to.  Anybody know?

Maybe to this:

Dezember in seiner Heimat Portugal an seinen Verletzungen.

I always wondered that! Considered trying to do the computer translation thingy but that's an awful lot to translate so gave up. The LA times link looks likely. Cheers x

1998 - The carpenter Nuno Zimmermann (from portugal), age unknown, was beaten hard in july by 8 neonazyskinheads (aged 18 -20) in Leipzig. He died 29.12.1998 in his homeland because of this hurts

(not a perfect translation)
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

Goddamn that's horrible.  But certainly a good reminder (or possibly the shooting at the Sikh temple here last week) of why songs like "Vengeance" are as relevant now as when they were written.
