The new songs
« on: May 12, 2013, 06:42:08 PM »
Having been unable to decipher them at the Wedgewood Rooms cos of the dreadfull PA system there Roadmender and the Plug provided the chance to properly listen to the two new, new songs - the sound system in Northampton was so good you could actually hear the fret buzz on JS's Lowden.

Gotta say both are firmly lodged in my head in a similar way to March in September was after the Xmas gigs.

Was a tad worried after Pompey that the new direction was gonna be a lot, lot different, but there are echoes of Red Earth in the new stuff (Horsemen) and dare I say it, a Stuart Morrowesque bass riff in 7 Times.

Thank you

March In Sept sounded awesome at Northampton...  sounded as natural and has powerful as if it was 10 years old or more. Hadnt heard Horsemen before Portsmouth and thought it might need to take time to grow....  but loved it when heard next night in Northants. Bass on 7 times is brilliant, the opening guitar chords and way it builds as well. Going to be one hell of an album....

Oh, new songs aside, great to hear the Charge last night  :)

Thanks for posting that, let's hope he does.

Had forgotten about the Charge - and Fate at Pompey til I found it on my mobile phone later!

I have recordings of '7 Times' and 'Horsemen' from Sheffield, was trying to upload them to YouTube last night but it proved to be a pain in the grass.  ;)

Will hopefully have them up there tonight, will post links as soon as they are available

Hm, strange song...
But worth to listen to.
I wonder if the whole new album sounds like this.
Somehow a bit melancholic...
