Skunk Anansie last night in Manchester.  Just awesome, brilliant gig.  Skin is one of the best front-people ever to walk this earth.  Check out this clip....   :D

Trying to make a Cure show somewhere on the upcoming tour.  A bit of a challenge when you live in New Zealand. Seen them about 20 times and never been disappointed. Agree that most of their recent albums have been a bit average, but with their standard 35 song set there is always something for everyone.

Saw Connor Oberst of Bright Eyes in Auckland a few months ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Gee, that's a lot of gigs. Yea, I spot the Suicidal Tendencies there. Haven't ever seen them but would really like to see. Waterboys might interest a bit too although I haven't heard them a lot.

I go to gigs quite rarely these days. We saw NMA once + here are the others I/we went to in last autumn:

The Orb
Mob 47 / Desperat
+ one or two local punk gigs...

Saw Steven Wilson in January in Hannover, excellent gig. He played the full Hand.Cannot.Erase album during the first half of the show and after that a collection of old and new solo material and some Porcupine Tree songs.

Last Friday my wife and I went to see young norwegian artist Aurora Aksnes at the Konzerthaus Dortmund. What a lovely and talented girl, we enjoyed every minute of the gig. Have to admit I had goosebumps several times during the show - jeez, did I really just say that? ;D Honestly, she's awesome. Different, but awesome. And sweet ;)

wanted to go and see Adam and the Ants in leicester but unless i pay £80 upwards (which ain't gonna happen) they're sold out for everywhere pretty much. should have bought them in october when i had the chance but may seemed a long way distant then.  :(

i went to see them a long, long time ago at rock city, nottingham. Al Jourgensen was a raging heroin addict at the time and according to friends of mine in the Hells Angels (who have run the door at rock city since time began) he hadnt been able to bring methadone prescribed to him in the US into the country, or join the methadone programme here (doctors here cannot prescribe methadone without the patient being registered). so he was refusing to play until someone scored him some smack and the Hells Angels refused to help in any way as they are traditionally massively anti-heroin. in the end we had to give up and go so as not to miss the last bus to leicester. apparently he eventually came on and played to about 100 people for half an hour before the club closed simply to not get sued for breach of contract. long story short- missed them.

Therapy? supported by Membranes at their Glasgow and Newcastle gigs last weekend - same again in Manchester tomorrow.

Both bands on fine form and well worth going to see.
