I've been working in Derby for a while on a massive railway project and popped in to The FlowerPot last night to check it out for future Blackballed gigs

While I was there there was an acoustic night and a bloke known as Lil Jim LJ was playing

Acoustic 6 string, drums, harmonica and accordian

Playing a mixture of old blues, cajun and country

Not what I've heard/ listened to before but it gets the foot tapping and he also a great accordian covers of Paranoid and Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This

I did a couple of facebook Live vidoes but I've just found this on You Tube

I saw Peter Hook doing 2 New Order Order albums "Technique" and "Republic" at The Albert Hall in Manchester on Saturday 29th September.  He also does the support slot where he tends to play half an hour of Joy Division tracks so in total he plays for well over 2 hours and is definitely value for money.

I agree its a great venue, but Dave Monk(onstage sound guru)reckons the sounds terrible.Been a few times,Mogwai,Slow Readers Club and Courtney Barnett.

The one time I was there (Skunk Anansie), the sound was pretty decent...

Going to see Fish tomorrow night in Manchester... 'Clutching At Straws' (one of my very favourite albums) in full and some new stuff plus old favourites... really looking forward to it, saw him last December at the same venue and it was a cracker of a night.

Had an absolutely brilliant time last night in Manchester seeing Fish at the Ritz... just goes to show how a sixty something fella in the twilight of his career (and with a voice and body that, by his own admission, are 'fucked') can pull off a magnificent gig thanks to a great backing band and a crowd who are loudly-vocal and SO up for it...

The only gigs I've got lined up right now are Suede (Manchester, April), Skunk Anansie (Manchester, August), Lacuna Coil (London, November)... of course, I'll be getting my Nottingham NMA ticket as soon as they're announced (and tickets if there is a new album tour, as Justin suggested last Christmas...  ;) )

I need to go to more gigs.   :-[
