The Blyth Power Ashes festival last weekend - 4 days of folk, punk, beer and fun. Spotted a few Army tees (not including my own!)

Amanda Palmer in Offenbach last Friday.  :)

Very different from NMA, but brilliant all the same!

Pixies at the 02 Apollo in Manchester.  The band never said a word throughout the whole gig, but the music did the talking, as they say.  Top gig with 37 songs in just under 2 hours

Last minute decision to head over to Manchester Academy 3 last night to see Blackballed with Alex the new drummer

They were supporting some guitar playing bloke called Paul Gilbert ( Not really my thing so left after about 15 mins)

Blackballed did a short 30 minute, 7 song set and went down very well

Alex fitted in well but as it was his first gig he was obviously a tad nervous

He'll be okay after a few more Guinness's

If anyone is interested Blackballed are playing at Katie Fitzgeralds in Stourbridge next Fridy and then supporting Balaam and the Angel in Birmingham on the Saturday

If anyone is going to Stourbridge I'll see ya there

Cheers

Yet another last minute decision as actually had a night at home instead of being away with work so went to The Brudenell on Monday to see Therapy

They played last year but for some reason had to cut the set short so to make up for it they played a matinee show finishing of the set they couldnt play

We didn't have tickets for this so just sat having a bite to eat and pint and then the venue staff asked if we wanted to go in

So two shows for the price of one

They played 2 storming sets

Thats it now until Blackballed on friday at Katies in Stourbridge

I saw Motorpsycho on tuesday in the Gloria in cologne and it was superfantastic!
I saw the once before, sometime in the 90's and i kind of lost contact to their music, they had so much output since then, so i wasn't sure what to expect. But they opened with a 20minute mindblower song and i said "now, i can go home" because it felt like a whole gig and then they just kept going with an brilliant set-list, played some songs from the past that i knew and it was like there was no time in between since i saw them.
Have to get some more records of this fantastic band.
ever tried. ever failed. no matter.
try again. fail again. fail better.

I saw Peter Hook and the Light at The Shankly Hotel Rooftop in Liverpool on Thursday 17th.  Certainly not the sort of venue I'm used to as it was one hell of trek to the top but it was worth it as Hooky and co played well over 2 hours of Joy Division and New Order material.
