I went to see Heilung yesterday - I didn't fully know what was awaiting me - quite different, I must say, but I, for one, enjoyed it a lot!

Next up is The Cure in Cologne on November 22

Well indeed. To be honest, it was quite alright. I was surprised. I start to get why they have collaborations with Iggy Pop and Tom Morello. They played for 2 hours, and it never got boring. They are still very young, but have presence on stage and they look to have fun.

Don't want to spam, so admin, please delete if this isn't cool.

I'm involved in "organizing" some shows in a couple of weeks in Ireland/Northern Ireland and will be in Dublin, Cork and Belfast.

The band/artist is Alain Whyte. He wrote most of the early Morrissey solo stuff (first half of his solo career before leaving). He's been putting out solo material for the last 5 years and these will be the bands first live gigs. Features a couple of other original M solo bandmates and has Craig Gannon on lead guitar.

Mt three fave bands growing up in the 80's were NMA, The Smiths and The Wonder Stuff and thought maybe others shared similar interests and thought to post here. Again, if not cool, delete away!

Got to see Die Antwoord yesterday in Brussels. And what a party it was. It's great they're back!

Not got too many gigs lined up as I've been a bit skint recently but it looks like I'll be doing...

Therapy? - 14.11.2024 - Manchester

The Slow Readers Club - 05.12.2024 - Manchester

Fish - 21.02.25 - Manchester.

NMA at Nottingham for the traditional Christmas show... big question mark on that one, just started a new job and I think I might be working that day... we'll see.   ???

So, any of you lot got any gigs coming up?

Seeing Fish (ex-Marillion singer) tomorrow at Manchester Albert Hall, his retirement tour, really looking forward to it, big fan since his Marillion days, his solo output has been spotty but often great, it'll be a bit of an emotional 'end of an era' thing for me.

Inspiral Carpets, Stoke, next month.

Skunk Anansie in Leeds, April.  One of the very best live bands I've ever seen.

Hoping to see Sisters Of Mercy in London, May, let's see how the cash goes.

The last concert I saw was the Blues/Rock band Larkin Poe in Paris, at the end of January, a showcase at the Fnac store for the release of their new album "Bloom"... a very nice moment, it was the singer's birthday so I gave her NMA and Justin cds at the new album signing session  ;D8)

So, any of you lot got any gigs coming up?

If I have enough money in June I will go see a friend of Larkin Poe,  Samantha Fish, in France, in Paris (or maybe Lyon). She is a  talented songwriter, just listen to her bluesy guitar and voice in "Sweet southern sounds", the first song released from her new album:

and "Daughters" from her very good BELLE OF THE WEST album : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE9fjWC9pZo

Before June and Samantha Fish in Paris/Lyon I will probably go see these bands in my small hometown of Normandie:

Tramhaus
Winter Family
Dirty Deep
Cucamaras
Dominique A

Also probably the cool music town festival "ça sonne à la porte", with bands from the area but also from others cities and countries:

Skunk Anansie in Leeds, April.  One of the very best live bands I've ever seen.

I've seen them in my town Rock Festival (where NMA played in 1995, incredible!!), in 2011,  and they were so good!! Skin is charismatic, another superb, underrated voice!
