Wow... a simple message recommending pubs that others might like ends up with folks worried about impending violence...

Master Ray, Lawrencecg PM me - I'm not going to post up what I've just taken down, but I wouldn't worry too much.

Does anyone actually know this character or is it purely troll material? I wasn't aware of him being on here overly much..........  If at all in fact........ Happy days indeed from the sounds of things.

So... at the risk of throwing up another shitstorm... where we all going before the gig?

(ducks for cover)...  ;)

I still stand by the trio of The Thirsty Scholar, The Salisbury and Grand Central... three great pubs within yards of each other.  Just around the corner from The Ritz and so easy to find for those people who aren't that familiar with Manchester... just look for the massive Manchester Palace redbrick hotel on Oxford Road, just over the road...

I can't wait for Saturday.

Sounds good to me Master Ray. Those pubs are close to the venue and are easy to find for non-Mancunians.

Cant go far wrong with that plan Master Ray,see you in The Salisbury.By the way,the steps from the railway station down to the pub are closed at the mo,people will have to walk round on Oxford Road.

Viv sent me a PM, I wouldn't worry... he sounds like someone you wouldn't talk to anyway.

I think there's enough like-minded folks who will watch each others backs in case some knobhead starts kicking off...

Hope to see you in Manchester!

I completely agree Purple - I was kinda looking forward to the night out on my own and meeting up with folk from the forum here but now I'm going along with GF and so my focus will be on her and not on meeting up this time round - hope you all have a great night - I'm figuring to go to the Whim Wham which is just down the road from the Ritz - it's a very Berlinesque place with some great swinging 1920s style music and musicians; we just might go to Lawrences do at midnight but either way; have a good night all - see you next time round maybe.

Hi guys

Don't post often but I've managed to get the kids parked at my brother's so I've booked a room in Manchester as it's the wife's birthday the day before.  Was reading this thread but then saw (or rather didn't) the deleted posts about recommended watering holes.  Should we be worried?

Also, is there an open invitation to the after-gig party? Missus might not be bothered anyway as it's way past her bedtime!  :-)

Cheers
Nobby
