First and Last and....
« on: November 07, 2013, 05:41:52 PM »
...not necessarily Always  ;D

What was the first album you ever bought (be honest !), and the most recent?

And how about first ever single, and most recent?

Mine are;

1st album:   Queen - Live Killers
Most recent album:  Michael Schenker Group - The Chrysalis Years  (cd re-release of their first few albums)

1st single:  Motorhead - Motorhead (live)
Most recent single:  Had to think about this, as it's been quite a while !  I think it was probably Twilight Home by Justin.

First lp was Outlandos D'amour by the Police
Last cd was The Best Of The PHANTOM ROCKERS! (by the Phantom Rockers) and
Stormtroopers Of Death's live dvd/cd Kill Yourself (I had the dvd but clocked the different packaging with a free cd! HAD to have it!) lol

First 7" was Ghost Town by THE SPECIALS
Last 7" was technically March In September flexi! Before that though er........
BRICKTOP self titled 7" on Randal Records. (Good mates of mine from Tucson, Arizona)

If memory serves, first single was 'Another Brick In The Wall', Pink Floyd.

As for first album... I can't remember if it was a NWOBHM compilation called AXE ATTACK or Geoff Love And His Orchestra with a cheesy album called SUPER SPACE THEMES or something...

 :(

How do you like it? It got mostly mixed reviews. Wondering whether to buy it or not.

It's the only Editors album I own.

I even haven't heard any of the others and I will be really honest I love it. I saw them at Glastonbury (on TV I'm too old to go there) and thought they were really good then forgot about them. Then someone on here posted a link to one of their songs and I remembered how much I'd enjoyed them so bought the CD straightaway. I love every track on the album. I haven't read any reviews on it or on any of their other albums. To me they are new and I've just discovered them although I know they go back to at least 2006.

I bought it a couple of weeks after BDAW and I so pleased to have got two albums in the space of a fortnight that are both brilliant.

Stranglers and Specials... Oh you guys have nothing to be shamed about... Among the first things I was into were also Dexy's Midnight Runners, Baycity Rollers & Beatles. :) A bit later I fell totally into all that metal stuff which lasted ten years. Until It was start of nineties and I found punk music.

About The Specials, they did also that Special AKA stuff. AKA released later on some digital stuff for DJ's too.

Thanks for that. I really liked 'Two Hearted Spider' in the early live version and was a bit disappointed when I heard the slowed down studio version. But I will go and check the rest of the album out. I do like them.

First album ever bought: Geier Sturzflug - "Heisse Zeiten"

Rock 'n' Roll woohoo! 8)

Most recent album bought: NMA - "Between Dog & Wolf"

First album ever bought: Think it was King of the wild Frontiers - Adam and his lovely Ants
First single ever bought: eirther Ghost Town - The Specials or OK Fred - Errol Dunkley

Most recent album bought: NMA - "Between Dog & Wolf"
Most recent 7" - Stupid Questions - NMA
I wouldn't say boo to a goose. I'm not a coward, I just realise that it would be largely pointless.
