"On this note - yeah, anyone care to suggest a meet-up for Brighton?"

Indeed... and on that note, any suggestions for food, accommodation, a little morning walk? Never been to Brighton. Can't wait... the two gigs I saw on the continent were on fire  :D

Meet pub would be good to know needs to be nearby cos I wanna catch all of the excellent Ellen Cox's set this time round and given it's her only support slot on this tour, good to see her back on the bill though what I saw of her at Roadmenders in Maybwas great and her new EP is really good
I'm crying out to the gods who couldn't care less - come and get me if ya can!

the venue is decent with a bar at the front apparently, the venue used to be a bikers pub and holds around 1000. Cant remember where we used to meet up in brighton for the levellers, i'll find and repost

my friend who lives in brighton says as follows:
" steer well clear of Queens Road and West Street, some ok pubs but Fri and Sat full of visiting chavs (and we have enough of our own down here), all ready to go clubbing. If you're going to the Concorde then I would head for St James Street in Kemp Town cos it's near and try the St James and then go up the road (on the right hand side) to the Sidewinder - bit studenty but decent atmosphere and beer.

Ok, maybe we should try them. I also haven't ever been in Brighton earlier. I tried to find some underground punk sort of thing from the web and only what I found was a couple of years old notice board talk of locals in demand of a good pub to organize punk gigs in Brighton. Some mentioned a pub called Hobgoblin. When I checked their site it looked actually a nice place to go too... But it's good if the place is near to the venue too as mentioned (above).

May I ask where are you going to stay in Brighton? Our place is in Hove, East Sussex, and it's about 1,5 miles distance from Concorde.

If memory serves (and it may not) the meet up before the last Brighton gig was at a pub called the hand in hand. Great venue, looking forward to it.

We drank in the Sidewinder last time we went (a few years ago), beer and food was quite nice, bit poncey but it IS Brighton... also pretty close to the venue :)

Close is good. NMA stage time is 8.00pm. I guess there is a club night after the gig.

Hobgoblin is ok, a bit of a rock pub.. not too close to the venue if I remember.. the Prince albert beside the station is a grand bar as is the Heart and Hand on north street with a very old vinyl jukebox.. plenty of boozers for all tastes in Brighton although near the venue am not sure.. see you all there.. I think the last train back to London is around 23.30. Would be a bit tight with a finish at 23.00, but with the band on at 20.00 there should be plenty of time.

For anyone who didn't catch Ellen Cox supporting at the gigs earlier this year, I highly recommend getting to the venue early - in my opinion, she's the best support act I've seen in my years of going to NMA gigs.

We are jumping on to plane on Wednesday and propably don`t have access to the net after that. But I`m going to write up all these several pub names you just gave. Just wondering what`s our condition after taking one or two in each of them  ;D. We`ll see you then. Maybe see you in St James street pubs around 6 ish then but true to form we will no doubt be late, failing that p'raps at the gig. I'm skinny, long dark hair and 14 hole DM's with red roses up the sides and also quite likely to be topping up with Nicotine.
