Coming 2 America... loved the first one, one of Mr Murphy's finest.  The sequel... well I didn't think it was quite as bad as other folks here have suggested but I only finished watching it because I had nothing else to do that night!   ;D

Sidenote - imagine if a female-led movie had the whole plot revolving around the main character being drugged into having sex with a stranger and, somehow, it's still a comedy... them big old double standards, eh?   ::)

Pet Semetary....I havent read the book, but the film is a typical Steven King Story. Enjoyed the film too
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

The book is way, way better than the film(s)....

So, Line Of duty, s6e1, what does anyone reckon?  Bit of a dull opener, IMHO but I suspect it'll turn into a twisty turny thing full of unexpected killings, many acronyms we don't understand and some further Irish colloquialisms from Ted Hastings (like the battle)...  ;)

I'm pretty certain I mentioned 'Promising Young Woman' around these parts before, I saw it a couple of months ago, but apparently it's on Sky Cinema now and is well worth checking out, certainly my favourite film of the year so far.  Certainly one of the more contentious films of recent times!

Two vastly different films I've watched over the last couple of days...

Firstly The Father, which Anthony Hopkins won an Oscar for, a hugely moving film about a man with dementia.  As someone who lost two much beloved grandparents to that awful disease, I can't deny that I was somewhat teary throughout.  Mr Hopkins certainly deserved his award for that one.  Great movie.

And then I saw Godzilla Vs Kong... damn, what a nonsensical thing it was, but a fun nonsensical thing!  Basically, Godzilla is attacking humanity and various cities and it's somehow because of... erm... something to do with a whole new inverted world a million miles below the Earths crust... where Kong (who is now living in some Truman Show type biosphere) originally came from, so they try and take Kong back there (with a little girl who he has some psychic connection with, or something) but Kong breaks out and starts fighting with the big lizard and then goes to the underground world and other stuff happens and... well, I kind of lost track of it after that but a big city gets destroyed at the end, I think it was Hong Kong, or possibly Tokyo, with the titular characters just twatting each other and knocking over buildings for a very long time until it goes a bit 'Batman Vs Superman' at the end, if you know what I mean (hopefully you don't, BvsS was just awful)...

So, yeah, not a bad film.   ;D

Of the two reviews you posted, my only living regret, is having never heard Barry Norman use "Twatting each other"

All or Nothing-Tottenham Hotspur.

Take the football away, although I do have a soft spot for Spuds, this will be a historical documentary/evidence in part, about Covid. One episode has shown a news broadcast saying 355 people have died from Coronavirus :'(

Ah, Barry, finest movie reviewer ever!

Although you'd also, despite popular opinion, have never heard him say 'And Why Not', which was supposed to be his catchphrase but one he never actually uttered... it was Spitting Image that imbibed him that notoriety!   ;)

Godzilla vs. Kong sounds like a movie i would enjoy...but your, btw great description, MR just reminded me, that in Germany we're still and now under a massive lockdown, which includes martial law kind of going out restrictions from 9pm to 5 in the morning and all cinemas are still closed. :'(

Was it the one from the '90s, with The Ramones playing "i don't want to be buried, in the pet cemetary.."? i think there was a remake recently. I saw that old one in those days and just remember that i liked it. But when i listened to the audiobook, the uncut reading of the story i was so thrilled. Didn't expect that something i already knew about and knew what was happening could get so intense. But that was exactly what Kinf did there. He knows that we know what is bout to happen and he does it in a way that, i felt, was just breathtaking.
