Just watched 300 - RISE OF AN EMPIRE.  Very little storyline, stupidly over-violent but OK if you want to switch your brain off for a couple of hours.  And it has Eva Green in it, so that's a big plus-point... 

Anyone here watched DA VINCI'S DEMONS?  Watched the first episode, quite liked it, but didn't think much of the second.  Seems to have a fanbase (the second series is airing right now), so there must be something in it, but not sure if I wanna carry on with it... anyone got any advice?

Gonna spend a bit of time catching up on various internet sites that I'm active on, but I think I'm gonna need to watch a film later on... someone recommend me something!!!!

Funny enough I tried watching Rise of an Empire on the train to the good lady's. Really couldnt get it at all. Not sure of her name but the actress who played the Queen was given a line along the lines of "Stroking your **** while watching real men fight". I nearly died laughing :-)

Irish films are bloody brilliant. At the risk of being patronising, they remind me of 1980s British films. A period when the Hollywood money was gone and we had to reply on story and acting. Films like Letter to Brezhnev, and Educating Rita.

Of Irish films, I like Garage, Dead Bodies, Disco Pigs, etc.

I liked the episode with Dracula the most. Also the one with the giant crossbow thingy.

The Guard is a bloody brilliant film. One of those films that catches you out. Obviously not a huge budget but well written and very very funny

Combining Irish Films, and debates on the Church, have you seen - The Magdalene Sisters ? a very good film. For some reason, the BBC show that one quite often.
