Help me folk!  This is especially a call out to Ray as I believe you are on some movie forums yeah?
I've just been given around 1000 VHS TV / movies and music videos...I've not got space for them I just said I'd try and pass em on as they were heading to a skip...there's some great TV and movies from 70s 80s and 90s BUT - and heres the real sour - they've been stored in a basement and all have some mildew on the edge of the tapes.  I reckon a lot of this stuff is now available online but a lot is not - some of this stuff is worth preserving and if I had time I'd use an old machine to play them on (to upload to youtube or record onto digital) The machine could be opened and cleaned up after jobs done.  I don't have the time nor the space for this stuff...I've put 'em out on eBay for a penny - Three weeks now and so far only one bite so it looks like they are heading to a skip.
All the vids are numbered and there are three catalogues that come with the vids of everything that is on the videos.
I'm now going through the catalogues and jotting down in word briefly what is in the catalogues - so if anyone can help me pass this stuff on - PLEASE get in touch if you want to browse the list.  Let me know your e mail address and I'll send an attachement.

I reckon they have another week before they have to go and - I have to say I'm ok with Gaia taking them - she's sturdier than she is given credit for in my humble opinion - but the loss of this library of work sits less comfortably with me...Let me know if you can help me re house this stuff...Ta, Larry

Mate, it's a lost cause.  I also had so much VHS stuff cluttering up my tiny flat... and not even charity shops round my way accept it anymore.  It's basically landfill nowadays.  You can't even get it transferred professionally because of copyright issues.

Let it go, if someone wants it, let them have it.  If not, down to the local tip with it all and hope that someone does a big re-release on DVD / Blu.  Quite a lot of movies I've liked from the past get reissued thanks to fellow movie obsessives!

Alright, mate!  Been looking out for INTERMISSION, but cash is a bit low right now, so Amazon is out and I can't find it elsewhere, if you know what I mean...

MR's recommendations?  Just watched CAPTAIN PHILLIPS... bloody terrific film.  Based on a true story about a US ship that got captured by Somali pirates... tense as all hell and brilliantly acted.  Tom Hanks is superb in it. Probably the best film I've seen this year.  Deffo worth a watch.

Heno... I wasn't looking forward to this weeks GOT, seeing it was a JON SNUUUR episode, but it was a cracker... good action movie stuff.  Still, can't wait to see what happens next week... although a bloody newspaper spoiler told me that (someone) kills (someone)... can't wait to see that happen...

It's a really old Italian film that is one of the most emotional and beautiful films ever. So glad I am open to open to watching old and/or foreign films or may have missed this.

Knievel - been pondering what you were asking last night... done a bit of homework and I'm wondering if this is any use to you... from electronics store Maplin... sounds like you could get copies done from your own home without those copyright isues that a professional would have a problem with...

Thanks for the research Ray; much appreciated but no my problem was I took the vids off a friend who was moving house and gonna skip em - I've no room or time to deal with them but boy there's some great stuff gonna be lost - honestly Ray can I offload a little here? thanks - I've just got hold of a lot of common or rubbish stuff but also some rare and unavailable material and it's all got to go into one foul dumpster - its a shame thats all -ouch I just quoted Phil Collins!  That's how bad this is

I still remember my mum throwing away the first 67 issues of 2000AD so i know what its like not to wanna throw anything away. Does anyone remember Royal Flash with Ollie Reed ? Very funny film and how about Trailer Park Boys?

LN, never watched that Ollie Reed flick and never seen Trailer Park Boys... I must investigate!

I read a lot of 2000AD back in the day... but I loved a similar comic called STARLORD, which only lasted about 13 issues back in bout 1978... it got merged with 2000AD at some point... damn, I'd love to read those comics again!

Back to what I've been watching RIGHT NOW... I downloaded the brilliant show BLACK MIRROR, both series... some great stuff there, especially the episodes called 'Fifteen Million Merits' and 'White Bear'....
