Watched a couple of interesting movies over the last couple of days...
CALVARY... loved this one. From the writer / director of THE GUARD (so, Heno, I know you'll be into this one...)
It's an Irish film about a priest who, in the confessional booth, is told that he will be murdered in the next week from one of his 'flock' in a small Irish town to pay for the sins of 'the church'. He then tries to figure out who wants to kill him and put to rest the problems of his past.
Cracking good movie with great performances (Brendon Gleeson, Kelly Reilley, Chris O Dowd, Dylan Moran), a great soundtrack and a moving ending...
The other one I watched was UNDER THE SKIN... a total WTF movie from start to finish! Any of you ever watch the films of Nicolas Roeg? THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH or WALKABOUT? This is the 21st century equivalent of those great films. Surreal as all hell, no coherent story, but brilliant visuals and stuff that will blow your mind, at least a little bit. Scarlett Johannson is some kind of sexual predator who drives around Glasgow in a white van and entices men into... um... some kind of weird shit...

No spoilers here. I had to go onto the Internet to figure it all out. But once I did, from much clever minds than mine... I think I'll watch it again. The ending is quite striking.
Yours, Master 'Barry Norman' Ray.
