Perhaps OPEN WATER 3 is about you and me going on a boating holiday off the coast of Ireland and are menaced by Heno in a rubber dinghy...

Just watched BEGIN AGAIN, the first film is 7 years from the director of one of my favourites, ONCE...

Rather enjoyed it... it's practically the same story as ONCE but set in New York and with star names in it.  It's about a girl songwriter, dumped by her rock star boyfriend and playing acoustic songs in dingy NY nightclubs, who meets with a formerly famous music producer and they decide to make an album, recording live in NY locations...  quite funny and with likeable characters and some decent tunes (not as good as the ones in ONCE, sadly...) Minus points for casting the guy from Maroon 5 in a major role and having him screeching over some of the tracks, but I think it's one I'd recommend...

i'd be more concerned about seagulls looking for meagre pickings if i was you, they've been known to pick at things that are old and shriveled up  ::)

Filth (Irvine Welsh) wow this is one crazy fcked up film but i suppose that's all most a given from Mr Welsh Nowhere as good as train spotting, not as crazy as the much recommend acid house trilogy, much better than the disappointing ecstasy.A good watch but definitely one for the more broad minded

Mt very favourite film from 2013.  James McAvoy is amazing in it. It's brilliant the way he's such an utter bastard but you end up with sympathy for him... that bit where he breaks down in front of Imogen Poots... heartbreaking.

Anyone seen FRANK?  Watched it last night, a truly odd film based (VERY loosely) on the whole Frank Sidebottom thing.  It's about a musician who joins an experimental rock band fronted by a strange guy in a huge plastic fake head (and he never takes it off)... his band aren't much more 'sane'....

Like FILTH, it's a bizarre film but the whole thing ends up quite moving... worth a watch if you're into the more alternative side of cinema... :(

I think I might be the only person in the UK who watches the US version of SHAMELESS...

Bloody love it.  So funny and so WRONG in places, but brilliantly written and acted.... I never got into the UK version but IMO, the US version is so much better...  :(

LOVE The Wolf Of Wall Street.  A bit overlong but the funniest movie Martin Scorcese ever did... that qualuudes scene... amazing.

It might be set a couple of decades in the past but it's so relevant nowadays... only downside is that you might feel an urge to go out and stab a banker in the face... and that, for some reason, is kind of frowned upon.   ;)

Did someone here watch "Rectify"?

Gosh, what a series! Brilliant narrative, haunting moments, very emotional. And very dark.

Ava, I haven't seen it but your words make it sound like just my cup of tea!  Will check it out!

Anyone gotten into a show called THE LEFTOVERS?  A mate of mine recommended it, sounds pretty good, might give it a go...

cheers on wolf of wall street ray. gonna watch it at the weekend

and Ava, looked up rectify. It looks good too

so i've got blade runner - the directors cut, which in my stupidity i never checked to see if was actually a directors cut and it isn't. its apparently a poorly put together marketing version that is one of 11 different releases!!! i only watched 3/4 of it when i found out checking imdb for information about sebastian

now i have to find "the final cut" which is the one where ridley scott got to do what he wanted.

i also want to watch some more of the movies made around the franchise. some have been labelled as follow ons but there is nothing official. anyone got any experience of this stuff?

by the way - we could always just google it or the like. but google doesn't love new model army the way we do. and its more interesting to hear experiences as opposed to reviews......

Heno, this might help..?   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Versions_of_Blade_Runner

I've seen 'The Final Cut' and I think it's pretty definitive... but never had a problem with 'The Directors Cut...'

What worries me is that Mr Scott is talking about Blade Runner 2... shit, the mans nearly 80 years old, he'll be 83 or 84 by the time he gets round to making it... and after the pile of shit that was PROMETHEUS, I'm dreading him shitting all over the whole BLADE RUNNER thing...

 :(
