Just checked out that new show GOTHAM... basically, Gotham City - The Early years, with a young detective (and, one day, Commisioner) Jim Gordon thrown into investigating the murder of the child Bruce Wayne's parents whilst running into characters who may (or may not) turn out to be The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman and so on...

Good show, I think I'll stick with it...

The latest episode of Educating The East End... damn, I have respect for teachers nowadays when kiddies are so much more disrespectful than they were when I was at school, about a million years ago...

Also the first episode of the new SOUTH PARK series... series 18 and still so funny, can't say that about certain other cartoon comedy shows...

Just finished watching LIFE, ITSELF, a documentary about the US film critic Roger Ebert... very interesting and quite moving, seeing as he had much of his face removed because of cancer and couldn't talk to his admirers anymore... I was a fan of his writing.

Seeing as I'm talking about documentaries, did I ever mention DREAMS OF A LIFE?  Terrific documentary about a young woman who disappeared and was found in her bedsit, dead and skeletal, after lying there for four years.  And this wasn't some recluse, she was a beautiful, popular young woman who just dropped off the radar despite a multitude of friends... well worth a look, it shows up onFilm4 quite often and I think it's on Netflix...

ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE, the most recent Jim Jarmusch film... an odd one, but one I rather enjoyed.  Basically, a depressed vampire musician gets visited by his lover from previous centuries and his weird sister (both of them also vampires) and odd stuff happens... a total love it or hate it movie, low on plot, high on atmosphere and surprisingly funny in a very deadpan way... great cast and great music.  One to investigate if you're into the more unusual side of cinema...

Just finished watching a double-bill of Mr Tarantinos KILL BILL, vols 1 and 2... damn, are those movies ten years old already?   

It's funny how I loved the first one and didn't like the second one much on my first watch... but after this new viewing, I like the second one MUCH better...

LUCY, with Scarlett Johanns... Johanse.... Johan... her off LOST IN TRANSLATION and those Marvel movies... 

Very enjoyable action flick that goes a bit mental towards the end... directed by Luc Besson, who did so many great movies like LEON, LA FEMME NIKITA and THE FIFTH ELEMENT...

Worth a look, IMO...

I've got an Unlimited card for the cinema and go quite a bit.
I agree with Lucy. Good film but very strange end that could of been much better.
In the last few weeks I've also seen :
 When I Go Sleep (very good, keeps you there the whole time)
What We Did On Holiday (brilliant child actors with lots of adlibs and a whole bunch of stars without being too much)
And today I saw Dracula (ok, not over exciting. Left open for a follow up or 2 if this one makes profit.)
