anyone watched The Last Ship? Season 1 is done and season 2 just starting. Wondering if Michael Bay brings his skills to drama well?

Day off today, so went over to Liverpool and checked out 'TERMINATOR - GENISYS' at the cinema...

If you're tempted... I wouldn't bother.  Wait until it shows up for free on Channel 5 a couple of years from now.  Couple of good action scenes and Emilia 'Game Of Thrones' Clarke is a cutie, but it's well over-complicated and rather pointless...

Going off on one for a moment... it's the first time, in Northern England, I've ever gone to the cinema one afternoon and had to pay £10 for a ticket.  And that wasn't any 3D or IMAX bollocks, just a standard ticket...  :o

Pah, I remember when you could go to the pictures, have a couple of pints, fish and chips on the way home and STILL have change from a tenner...

Yours, Angry Sad Old Northern Bastard.

Oh yes. Very 1980's  :)

By the way, on the subject of Film / T.V. are you aware of a new Freeview channel. "Horror", number 70. They are showing mid 70;s Tom Baker Doctor Who during the day, then horror films at night.

Nope, my TV aerial blew down about 18 months ago, so I watch all my tv via the internet... which means I don't pay my TV license anymore.  They send me increasingly angry reminders, bless 'em... but I ain't paying for a service I can't receive...

In fact, that gives me an idea for a new thread!

You should get yourself a google chromecast n watch it on tv instead of the laptop. Be interesting to see just how they are going to implement the the license fee when they change it to bbc iPlayer etc Does this mean everyone with a smart phone or even a playstation of xbox and WiFi will have to pay even if you never watch tv. Controversial but should every over 75 get a free license I mean some of them could easily pay it

Saturday Night and Sunday Morning

Great "kitchen sink drama" from 1960. Based on the excellent book by Alan Sillitoe

Mr Boyle is indeed somewhat nasty... but so funny.

You know Jim Jeffries?  My favourite comedian and so bad at times... but intelligent with it.

Here's a link to his last show on Youtube, bit cut up with commercials, but so funny... check it out and let me know what you think, it's about an hour long...

It was terrible ha ha, all is said when Emilia calls the Terminator "Pops"! ;D
How far we have fallen from the dark, tense, mature first "Terminator"...

IT FOLLOWS, highly acclaimed horror flick... MUCh better than the average teen horror movie...

I was a bit disappointed especially after the early buzz...opening scene was pretty good and intriguing but after i felt it went downhill with not involving characters and repetitive story...it looked like a subpar mix of John Carpenter, Sofia Coppola and "The entity"!

THE VOICES... damn, this is an odd one.  Kinda sick, kinda funny, one to give a watch if you're into oddball cinema...  trailer here...

I liked this one!
Offbeat indeed, darkly funny disturbing and sad at times...the performances are very good too (Ryan Reynolds, Gemma :DArterton, the cat and the dog ;))...and the song during the end credits was nuts!
