The good, the bad and the ugly. First time in 20 odd years. Always had it as a Clint film but actually Eli Wallach is the best/main role in the film. Wonder why this genre has never been remade when every other film has?

Hazel O Connor. What a talent!!! Never seen the film though.

However I have just watched Red State following MR's recommendation. Bloody hell. What a good film. How on earth did that pass me by??

Glad you liked it, DB!  Michael Parks, what an actor!  Still think that director Kevin Smith bottled it a bit at the end because (a) there wasn't the budget for the big apocalyptic conclusion that we were all hoping for or (b) he didn't want to upset the Christians!  No spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but I think DB will join me in a big old 'recommend'... 

Deffo inspired by the utterly loathsome Westboro Baptist Church... check out Louis Theroux's documentary about them, I think it's on Netflix...

Just started on series 4 of the excellent ORPHAN BLACK... I genuinely think I'm the only person in the UK who loves this show...  well worth a look, the BBC seem to have dropped it but it's now on Netflix, new episodes every Friday, if you fancy it, here's the trailer for the very first series... I highly recommend it.

Good call Phill.  You will enjoy and suffer in equal measures.    Wonderful characters and tight, exciting storylines.  Yes, it does drift away a bit in the last couple of seasons but rallies well before the end.  But , blimey, the makers of the show LOVE to put their audience through the wringer!  All I can say is that no-one is safe...

Also, stay the heck away from anything remotely involving SOA on the old Internet.  It's been finished for a couple of years now so it seems to be fair game to discuss the various character deaths, of which there are many... I clicked on an interview with Charlie Hunnam (lead character Jax) well before seeing the very last episode, it seemed perfectly innocuous but it gave away what happened to him at the end!  Fuming! 

You will have a great time watching SOA.  And if anyone on this Forum gives you any spoilers, rest assured, us SOA veterens will have a private meeting and discuss whether they should meet 'Mr Mayhem'... you'll find out what that means...
