Since the site seems to be on a Stephen king kick I watched a couple of episodes of Mr Mercedes pretty decent so far.  Watched riot in cell block 99 or something like that , it was ok no where near as bad as the title suggests,  very violent in parts

Elysium.  Bloody great.  I think I watched it when it first came out on DVD, but I must have watched it drunk because I don't remember much about it... gave it another go tonight and it's SO good...  :D

Today we watched the whole NMA Sziget Hungary gig from -97. Bloody great. And it was strange to see how the dudes have turned up older nowadays! (sorry!)  ;)
I can recall a moment when No Pain started and my wife caught me up having tears in my eyes... Here we go.

Moto Gp - Phillip island Australia,  Best described as fight on 2 wheels at 100 plus mph with 7 or so riders fighting it out at the front with no quarter given . Valentino Rossi finished the race with tyre marks on his shoulder n Marc Marquez seat was broken.  Marquez would eventually win the race from Rossi giving him a 33 point lead with 2 races remaining

Finally got around to 'Brawl In Cell Block 99'... it was pretty good but desperately overlong at  two and a quarter hours...

The directors previous film, 'Bone Tomahawk' was far better... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZbwtHi-KSE

Got round to watching It. Very impressed. Must read the book again. Who is the best Pennywise? Both. In different ways.

American Psycho.  If you've ever read the book, you'll know how horrific it was.  So to make the film and turn it into a sort-of comedy and make Patrick Bateman into, basically, Alan Partridge... genius. Yes, there are gory bits (including the bit I'm about to post below) but the ending of the film makes clear what is vaguely hinted at in the book... no spoilers!  And Christian Bale is amazing in this film, what a performance!  Oscar-worthy, for sure.  Anyway, here's that 'bit', NSFW...

24 hours to live - Ethan Hawk
Pretty much your standard fair action film - plenty of guns and car chases etc . Well acted n not the worst plot ever - definitely seen a lot worse . If you have a cpl of spare hours n your struggling to find a movie you could do a lot worse.

Checked out 'Thor - Ragnorok' at the cinema this afternoon... such a fun film!  Daft as heck, certainly a lot better than the last Thor film, it's genuinely funnier than most comedies, the audience were laughing throughout.  But it's still a damn good fantasy film.  Remember 'Flash Gordon' from the early 80's?  That's the level they're operating here, it's so colourful and campy with a terrific 80's influenced score.  From the director of 'Hunt For The Wilderpeople' and 'What We Do In The Shadows', two films well worth checking out.  I'm getting a bit bored of superhero movies but I enjoyed the shit out of this one.  Trailer here...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue80QwXMRHg

Just had a chat  today with my friend about Chuck Norris' films. Anyone remember "Silent Rage" (1982)? Man, that was a scary film. Well, an idiot B-class movie but still...  :P

Got the DVD!  Loved Chuck Norris as a teenager... personal favourites are 'Code Of Silence' and 'Invasion USA'...

Still haven't gotten around to watching that new Apes movie.  And I loved the first two...

Gave Doctor Strange another go tonight, seeing as he was in that new Thor movie and I hadn't seen that movie since I saw it at the cinema... pretty good although DAMN did it rip off 'Inception'...
