Not wanting to be a smart arse, and not checking on google but I am pretty sure that series was Friday night, 9p.m., ITV around 1981.

You might be right, ITV wasn't the big 'all in one' thing back in 1981, stuff got shown on different stations in different regions (at different times)... ATV, Granada, Anglia, Tyne Tees etc, so you might be right.  For me, in the Granada region,Friday nights at 9pm was always about 'The Professionals'...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zx5V9Z4ed0

Well, I've got the box set of that series. I like it most of all for the memories of talking about it at school after the weekend, how scary it was. Come on over some time, we will have a Hammer Horror binge  :D

Sorry, no never heard of Universal horror
Ok, either you are being sarcastic or your IQ is literally 100 points lower than mine.

Never heard of Universal? Uhh, do these iconic horror monsters from Universal Studios ring a bell? Hammer films ripped these classics off for ages.

Space, if you were half as intelligent as you think you actually are you would know that the Hammer studio actually has a series of films and TV series labeled "Hammer Horror". Yes, Universal studios made horror films and whole load of other films, but if they had a direct marketing theme known as "Universal Horror", no I have not heard of it.

Not sarcastic, and considerably more intelligent than some two bit punk ass NY troll  >:(

Slush, I wrote it as "Universal horror"...lower case h. That means it is not a proper noun, it is not a title. In a topic of horror, you should have been able to figure out that Universal (with the capital U) was Universal Studios. But I guess you are not as intelligent as you claim to be above.

And what is this "Space" you keep bringing up? Does it have something to do with "Space 1999"? That had some creepy horror moments.

Falling Down. This should actually be in my top 5 films. A one off brilliant story.
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

Just got back from 'Ready Player One' at the cinema, which I really enjoyed despite the usual 'it was twenty minutes longer than it needed to be' niggle.  Really spectacular and a lot funnier and more moving than I was expecting.  Nice to see a big family-orientated blockbuster that isn't grim and full of massive amounts of killing and violence.  You can safely take the kids to this one. Some lovely cameos from well-loved characters from past favourites as well...  trailer here.

BTW, I chose this one over 'Rampage' with Dwayne Johnson and that new horror flick that's quite a big hit about the family being stalked by monsters with super-sensitive hearing...  I guess I was caught between The Rock and A Quiet Place.

Better than Ah-nold:
The Rock allows himself to be things other than the macho guy. Rock actually portrayed himself as a homosexual in one film. Ah-nold would never ever do that. The Austrian always had to be the sh!t-kicking tough guy.

Not as good as Sly:
Come on, the guy did write ROCKY. The silly Rocky sequels distract us from the fact that the first ROCKY was a great film. That first ROCKY is so real, so honest, a great character study. It's a work that can stand alongside any of the iconic gritty films of the true golden age of movies, the '70s.

Pol, I quite like Dwayne Johnson.  He seems like a hugely likeable fella and makes silly movies that aren't too hard on the brain.  Nothing wrong with that...

He's got another one coming up in a couple of months, 'Skyscraper', trailer here...  seems like 'Die Hard' meets 'The Towering Inferno'...  but looks like fun.
