Come on, the guy did write ROCKY. The silly Rocky sequels distract us from the fact that the first ROCKY was a great film. That first ROCKY is so real, so honest, a great character study. It's a work that can stand alongside any of the iconic gritty films of the true golden age of movies, the '70s.

So true!
He also wrote the pretty good "Paradise Alley" and wrote a part of the one and only Rambo movie, "First blood".  :)

Yes, he did. Also directed it. And it is safe to say that PARADISE ALLEY is a perfect example of an overlooked gem. Hardly anybody knows of it. Never on TV here. Never mentioned in any docs/articles about Sly. But the movie is a winner. Both fun and touching.

Pretty good Bill Conti score, too. I bought this album:

And guess what? He played a tough guy in both. (In TWINS wasn't Arnold a genetically engineered superior specimen?)

Just gave Red Sparrow a go... excellent movie, although not exactly a shit-ton of giggles.  Also, some pretty dodgy Russian accents (from usually dependable actors) going on there... but it's worth a pop, IMHO.

But blimey, THAT was a '15' certificate in the UK? What the heck do you have to do to get an '18' in the UK these days?

Apocalypto. Kind of skipped this film for years and wished I hadnt now. Very impressed.
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

Brilliant film, sir, well done catching up with it.  Mr Gibson is a fine director, never a bad film that he's had fingerprints on the camera.

Has anyone mentioned 'Godless' yet?  Cracking good Western show on Netflix, a mate of mine insisted I watch it and I'm glad he did.  Bit of a slow-starter, but I'm two episodes in and it's a terrific watch... also only 7 episodes in total, so not a massive time-sucker!  Trailer here...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMUiRYoc76A

Just curious, do you know that APOCALYPTO is a remake? Have you seen the original?

Body Snatchers (1993).  A hugely under-rated and rather forgotten horror film.  Trailer here..  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okW2UfLNaJc

Porridge.  The original one with Ronnie Barker, not the shit remake, obviously.  Just brilliant.   ;D

It's very good indeed, and beautifully shot.
On the big screen that scene with the great Meg Tilly was incredible, so creepy...:

Getting into season 2 the handmaids tale . Excellent drama and acting. Bit of a slow burner at times but enough good stuff to keep things going . Ink masters season 10 final , another season  comes to an end with a well deserved winner , less drama and more art this season.  MotoGp  - circuit of the Americas- Marc Marquez blows them away n puts Rossi n co in there place.
