Ha!  'Obtained it' just now, a friend of mine saw it at the cinema in the Netherlands a couple of months ago... he said it wasn't very good. But when was the last time anyone of us saw a decent Bruce Willis film?

So, gave that new Death Wish flick a go... you're right Pol, a decent enough watch, Bruce looked pretty bored throughout (totally phoning it in) but it was quite well made and wasn't a total waste of a couple of hours...

Fell asleep part way through it and never re-watched it, but I'll give it another go if you proper recommend it.

Just gave a new British film called 'In Darkness' a watch... really rather good.  Thriller about a blind girl who hears a murder in the flat upstairs and subsequently gets involved with Serbian war criminals... ah, we've all been there, eh?

There was a great documentary about the Manchester bombings on UK TV the other night, just caught up with it.  'Manchester - The Night Of The Bomb' it was called.  Very moving and sometimes shocking stuff... still quite upset by some brave young girl quite nonchalantly talking about how she ran her fingers through her hair after the blast and pulled out a severed ear from someone blown apart in the explosion...

Anyone seen 'Mom And Dad'?  Brilliant satirical horror movie about parents suddenly (and inexplicably) trying to murder their kids.  Just watched it tonight, was laughing my ass off at times and quite disturbed at other moments.  And you've got Nicolas Cage (who says it's the best film he's made over the last ten years) going THE FULL CAGE, I mean proper mental.  Such a fun watch.  Trailer here...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzmztaedBdU

As a lifelong movie buff I am almost ashamed to admit this, but I had never seen SUNSET BOULEVARD until yesterday.
It was every bit as great as legend has made it out to be.

It also made me sad that movies are no longer of this caliber. Miss Norma Desmond was so right, the pictures have gotten small.

I just watched that new 'Tomb Raider' film, or tried to.... shite, in a word.  Cliched, unimaginative and the new Lara Croft, pretty though she is, has about as much charisma as a salad... a salad that you just bought, reduced, because it was about to go out of date.  Barely lasted an hour before I thought 'life's too short' and stuck on a bit of The Young Ones, the one where Neil joins the police.  Now, THAT's entertainment!

I gave 'My Generation' a go, that cinema released documentary about the 60's with Michael Caine as your narrator.  Pretty enjoyable stuff, doubtlessly a bit glossed-over in places and a bit shallow... but there's some lovely rare footage (blimey, many of these people looked so good!) and nobody can deny that it was a truly revolutionary decade.  Trailer here, it's a fun watch...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lv2jNR8VVFo
