Finally finished watching Sopranos, wow not enough superlatives to describe it. I recommend it highly especially to anyone who liked Donnie Brasco ,Goodfellas or any other film in the Mafia genre. A strange / unusual ending (in my opinion)....but i am informed there is a reason it ended this way.Suffice to say i will say no more as not to ruin it for anyone wishing to watch it................Got to go,need to make a pick up,and then whack some Mother F****r. ;D

Sorry to double post,i have been watching the last scene of Sopranos over and over again. It is still not how i expected it to end, but, after the initial shock / surprise of how it did,i now realise what a very clever ending it was.

Thanks for coming back to us on 'The Sporanos'... yes, I must binge watch the whole thing...

OK, back to the 80's for me tonight, 'Best Seller', anyone remember this one? A total VHS classic that i haven't seen in a decade or two, bloody loved it.  Rarely shows up on TV in the UK.  James Woods and Brian Dennehy, a professional killer gets a crime writer to write his story whilst unravelling a big conspiracy and killing loads of bad guys along the way.  Great 80's cheesiness, as the trailer will indicate (love the gravelly voiced narrator, who did so many trailers back then).

Who remembers this one?

Hostiles-Love the story and some great acting in it but somethings missing and I dont know what.
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

Man, you should have seen our newspapers, our TV talk shows, our radio shows, our everything the day after that final episode. It was non-stop talk over that ending. Oh, did the show get crucified over that ending. Say what you will about the ending, it was in fact responsible for the biggest watercooler-talk in entertainment. EVERYBODY was commenting on it the next day (even sports shows were having discussions about it). And it lasted for days.

Only thing close in entertainment for watercooler talk was Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction at the Super Bowl. But everybody kind of liked that. NOBODY liked "The Sopranos" final scene.

Those first two GODFATHER films actually get better the more you watch them. They are like a song or an album. Yeah, first time is cool and full of surprises, but the depth gets revealed the more you partake of them.

And the iconic lines ("Leave the gun, take the cannolis," "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse," ...oh, there are far too many to list) become joyful, almost comforting, to hear again and again.

Nobody talks about that third film. I was one of the few people that actually saw it in the theaters. Oh, was that a mistake.

Godfather 3 is, indeed, an inferior third installment... but Pacino is great in it and, without giving too much away, it's a true example of how karma can finally catch up with you...

Still, my favourite gangster film ever is 'Once Upon A Time In America', I'd take it over any Godfather film.  Four hours of cinematic genius with the finest Ennio Morricone score.  I mentioned it a few days ago, can't remember if you responded, but do check it out if you haven't seen it, trailer here...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcpCRyNo8T8

Four Lions....tricky subject but very satirical and makes a mockery of the whole homegrown jihadist. In the samelight portrays their weaknesses in a human way.
