Just finished watching 'Rampage', that Dwayne Johnson movie about him and a massive ape whose his best mate and they somehow save the world (or at least Chicago) from a giant crocodile or a massive wolf monster... aw heck, it's probably one of the dumbest films ever made, but after a difficult day, sometimes 'dumb' is just what you need...  it gave me a buzz, not every film ever made has to be a critical masterpiece as a certain someone active on this Forum insists...   ;)

Trip to the cinema this afternoon to see 'Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom'. NO SPOILERS! I rarely bother with the cinema these days but it was an afternoon out with a mate and a couple of beers in a sunny beer garden afterwards... wasn't expecting much but I was genuinely surprised by how much I liked it.  First one since the original film to do something different, at least in the second half. There was a twist I genuinely didn't see coming and a few new ideas that might make you go  ??? ....

I'd post a trailer, but all the ones I've seen give away FAR too much...  ::)

I've heard that 'Solo' isn't quite as bad as it's made out to be... although The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Disney are estimating that they'll lose $50 million and have cancelled the Ben Kenobi and Boba Fett prequels due to it's massive under -performance... hope you like it.  I'll give it a miss until I can get hold of, ahem, 'The Korean Special Edition', if you know what I mean...   :)

Great film. To this day, me and a mate of mine still go 'you bad?  We bad?  We ARE bad!' if we find ourselves in a dodgy area somewhere...   ;D

Watched this last week thought it was dire. CGI was brilliant but thought the acting and story were shite.
4 out of 10.
My daughter and her mate gave it a 7 maybe its my age.

Ha!  A comment with A FEW SPOILERS BENEATH, so be warned...

...

...

...

Perhaps going in with low expectations was the key to enjoying it?  I wasn't expecting much after reading mixed reviews.  I just liked the way they blew the whole island up about 50 minutes in (we've had four movies of folks running around that island!) and then took it off in a whole new direction.  The second half, set around dinosaurs in that creepy mansion, was far more like a horror movie, much darker in tone.  Also liked the idea about the kiddie being a clone created via the same technology (although that concept was a bit under-developed) and the dinosaurs finally being let loose into the real world.... seems like an interesting set-up for another chapter...  ???

But fair enough if you didn't like it much.   ;)

Hard to please me at times  ;)  But the next film looks to have much potential.

Seeing as this one has already made an absolute ton of money, I suspect we will, indeed be seeing another episode... see you back here in 2 - 3 years!   ;D

Just got back from Jurassic World. Enjoyable film but possibly overlong. Im not overly sure its a huge difference to any of the others, with similar themes tbh, but I liked it. More interested in the different species they showcased, but I can thank my five year old for that. As others have said it has set the possibility for a new twist in the tale.....

Spoiler.....

Going on a binge-watch repeat of the brilliant 'Banshee', all 38 episodes... that'll keep me going for the next few days.  One of the best theme tune / opening credits ever?

The Guard. Funny film and one of my best ever. Full of stereotypes and reverse stereotypes being destroyed/enhanced.
