Deadpool 2. Gotta disagree with MR on it. I really enjoyed it. Some of the themed jokes follow on but I wouldnt say its the same.

Ah, I watched it after a difficult and tiring day at work that left me a bit cranky, nodded off a couple of times, perhaps I should give it another ago.  To be fair, the parachuting bit and its aftermath did make me laugh out loud...

Just starting a big re-watch of Being Human.  The UK version, not the crap US remake.  I'd forgotten how great this show is.

Funny Cow, UK film that looks like a heart-warming comedy but is actually pretty grim for the most part...  don't get me wrong, it's a good, well-acted film and worth a watch, but don't expect too many laughs...

Yes, it was good and worth watching...but it surely could have been far better if the producers got some money together to hire an editor. The show plodded and plodded and plodded along like a Justin Sullivan acoustic number.

Yes, Hardy is worth watching in just about anything, but to be honest, the best thing about "Taboo" was Hardy's man servant Brace.

.
Useless information Part II:
IMDb states that season two of "Taboo" is already in the can.
I'm looking forward to it. Perhaps the makers will have learned from their mistakes in season one and tightened up the storytelling. Also, I am hoping the season will be set in America as we have been led to believe by events in season one.

We just began watching Dr Who starting with Christopher Eccleston. :) It has been on our watchlist for years, the DVD box gathering dust on the shelf, but now we finally got to it. Five episodes in during the first season, it is great fun, and very reassuring to see, that the Aliens are most likely just people in rubber suits.  ;)

As a DW fan who is old enough to remember the original series, I wish you well on your trip.  I'm a fan of Mr Eccleston but I thought he was a bit of an awkward fit for the role.  And the first series is a bit uneven IMHO... it was a big deal for the BBC to spend so much money on a reboot of a show that was, quite frankly, regarded as a bit of a joke at the time so they did ramp up the silliness at times whilst putting in the darker stuff so Eccleston could play to his strengths... I think that later series are better once the first series was such a hit and they got a bit more confidence in what they were making.  Stuff gets a lot more intricate and deep later on... let us know what you think!

Personally, my favourite era was the Eleventh / Amy and Rory years...

Its funny watching the Ecclestone era now, its all weirdy synth music, very much like the earlier series. IMHO, Tennant was possibly the best recent Doctor. Matt Smith added a quirkiness to it and some very good episodes in his tenure. I very much like Capaldi too, more than Smith. A much darker Doctor that Tennant touched on.
Orlando, youre in for a treat.

Kill Bill Vol 2.  When these movies came out, I (as a younger fella) preferred the first one but with age and 'wisdom'  ::) I now deffo prefer the second... and I really love this scene...

Ruthless People.  Very funny film from the 80's that seems to be a bit forgotten these days...

"Are you my mummy?"  :o

Just finished the two-part-story "The empty child" and "The doctor dances". The best episodes of Dr Who season 1 so far, downright creepy, combined with very funny moments, almost perfect television. We are very much enjoying the show, watching one or two episodes almost every night, except for Friday, when we had to go and see Justin :)

One notable thing though is how much more difficult it is to understand the actors, something I have noticed in a lot of British film and TV, if compared to American productions. It will be interesting to see, how we will manage, once David Tennant comes on board. We had to switch to the dubbed German version of "Broadchurch", as it was almost impossible to understand him there.
