Just gave 'Solo - A Star Wars Story' a watch... nope, not having it.  If it ain't Harrison Ford, it ain't Han Solo, much like Queen without Freddie ain't Queen.  Just a bad cover version.   ::)
Tried to watch it but couldnt get into it tbh. Ill give it another go.

A trip to the flicks to see the new Predator movie... as my mate said, it's a Ronseal movie, does what it says on the tin.  One of the better entries in the franchise, I wish they hadn't have blown one of the big twists in one of the trailers though.  Some very funny lines and characters.  Worth a look.   ;)

Yesterday i saw the infamous "Flesh Gordon" (1974) and had lots of fun! Of course, when you read about the plot:

"Emperor Wang (the Perverted) is leader of the planet Porno and sends his mighty "Sex Ray" towards Earth, turning everyone into sex-mad fiends. Only one man can save the Earth, football player Flesh Gordon. Along with his girlfriend Dale Ardent and Professor Flexi-Jerkoff, they set off towards the source of the Sex Ray, to stop the cosmic penetration!"

A movie you shouldn't watch alone and maybe also not sober, 'cause you won't believe some things you will see there;-)

Just thought maybe i should add: this is not a porn movie, but a very trashy exploitation sci-fi spoof, with lots of nudity.. :-[

Ha, haven't seen that one since I was a kid, required viewing during schoolboy VHS days!

Found this trailer here... rather sanitised, I would have imagined that people who went to see it were, ahem, somewhat surprised by the content when they saw the film...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNuk_boPD8Q

Never realised it was made in 1974.  Obviously put out on video in the 80's to cash in on the 1980's version.

Did you realise there was a sequel 'Flesh Gordon Meets The Cosmic Cheerleaders'?  Trailer here, and this one does have some bewbs in it, so be warned if bewbs are offensive to you...  ;D   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p1Ut5v7NZY   (it does look rather terrible but but I'm sort of tempted to watch it one day...)

Just started watching the new Jack Ryan TV show.  Pretty good so far.

If there wasn't a character called Hand Solo, they missed a trick there...

Hi MR, keeping well?

Which Predator film did you see? Coz I went to see The Predator on Saturday last, what a pile of horse manure! And Shane Black the guy who directed and wrote the excellent Iron Man 3 and was the first solider killed in the original directed it!!!!! Could they be the same people? And the ending....I wont give it away....but....pfft.  >:(

Me and my partner love going to watch films on Sat/Sun mornings then going out for lunch, as it the only real time we get from our business. We love trashy films as well, knowing they are trash but fun, latest ones we've seen; The Meg (ridiculous but a riot), Skyscraper (in 3D not that bad a movie), Rampage (ludicrous but amusing), Ant Man and the Wasp was a good film.

The Predator was not meant to be any of them, the original is a classic imho, the sequel ok, the AvP rubbish imho, Predators was actually a pretty good film...now this!

Anyway its Mile 22 next, looks promising.  :)

Ive seen the Meg. Absolute nonsense of a film with Jason "one character" Statham but not too horrendous to watch and worth a viewing.. Quite enjoyed Skyscraper. Reminded me a bit of the Die Hard films.

Hey, ldopas, glad our tickers are both still pumping!

To be honest, I went into 'The Predator' with low expectations, just an excuse to hang out with my best mate, but after the awful A vs P movies I wasn't expecting much...perhaps a second viewing will show it up.  What the heck, I enjoyed it.  If you like Shane Black (and i CERTAINLY DO!) I take it you've seen 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' and 'The Nice Guys'?  Both terrific movies...

I do have a soft spot for the works of Mr Statham like I do for some of the dodgier movies in Charles Bronsons output, he just plays to his strengths without trying to bore us with his 'range'... he's usually a grumpy old bald fella who can be a bit of a c**t, but he plays the part well.  Haven't seen The Meg, but if he doesn't punch that shark right in the mouth whilst calling it a 'caaahhnnt' I'll be disappointed.

Saw the trailer for Mile22, didn't impress me much, early reviews are dreadful, but 'Patriots Day', from the same director, was a rather good film, so I think it's one for watching on the sofa rather than take a trip to my local movie theatre...

Nothing new but very entertaining. Maybe a bit ott on the cgi especially in the stunts .

It is a good film. But erm, cgi? Tom Cruise does most of those stunts himself, including fighting on a cliff top, hanging onto a plane, chased over rooftops (where he broke his ankle and then continued to film) and flying a helicopter through mountains while acting. Not a huge Cruise fan but kudos to him. Its all discussed on the internet and in film mags. CGI? Tom will not be happy!
