A few years ago HBO had a WWII program called PACIFIC. Incredible show. Best part of it was there was an unknown actor in it whose performance was so amazing I had to look up who it was. Rami Malek. Never heard of him, never seen him before. But believe it, he gave one of the greatest performances I had ever seen.

Flash forward a few years and the Queen movie comes out. The guy playing Freddie Mercury looked like Freddie...the actor's name meant nothing to me (I had forgotten "Rami Malek"). Then while watching The Golden Globes Awards Malek wins best actor and gets onstage (obviously without the Freddie teeth and makeup). Oh, my God, it's him! That's the guy who was absolutely brilliant in PACIFIC!

Folks, watch PACIFIC. Find a clip. See just how talented this Malek is. I am already calling him a new Pacino.

Just watched Bohemian Rhapsody. Great film. Their music played a huge part of my formative years and I think it makes a great story.

It was an enjoyable watch, indeed!  Bit cheesy in places and it certainly plays a bit hard and loose with the facts, but what the heck... it's not a documentary, it's a fun watch.  $600 million in worldwide sales?  Damn, i bet Queen made a shit-ton of money last Christmas!

Yeah. I heard theyre on the breadline these days! Without a doubt there are some timeline inaccuracies, but the story itself stays the same. It could have gone badly wrong.

Blimey, a show I never even knew existed and was shown last year, even on the BBC... just found it online and, heck, how did I miss it?

'Romper Stomper', a new series... love the original film and this is a proper follow-up, 25 years later, not just some cash-in, but a continuation of the story from the same writer / director.  Even a couple of original cast members as well.

Watched the first two episodes, it's well worth a watch if you're a fan of the original film... trailer here...

The Girl In The Spiders Web.  The reboot of the whole 'Girl with The Dragon Tattoo' thing after a failed US remake.  I love the original (and brilliant) Swedish movie trilogy, well worth a watch, but this was a desperately average film.  Turned such a great character into a standard action movie heroine doing CGI things like she was in a superhero movie.  Oh, well, trailer here...

Split is a pretty good movie and, damn, how good an actor is James McAvoy?  You ever seen 'Filth', I think I've mentioned it before... terrific film and Mr McAvoy is just excellent in it...  trailer here...

'King Of Thieves', cracking good UK true-story movie about a bunch of old lads who pulled off the biggest heist in UK history... a very entertaining watch.

Michael Caine stars (amidst a superb cast) but, here, no bloody doors get blown off.
