Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri- There is not one happy character storyline throughout the entire film. Its content is very bleak and dark. And yet each character has a depth of goodness inside, amongst all the crap life throws at them. Wonderful, wonderful film.
Well put.
(Although, I would say that one character is pretty much worthless.)

Silent Hill. I like this film. Never get bored of watching it. One of the few "from a game" films that works.

Seeing as I've finally come down with 'the dreaded lurgi' that's been been going around work for the last couple of weeks (and am currently emitting thick snot at regular intervals with a throat that feels like I just sandpapered it and, to quote Withnail And I, feeling like a pig shat in my head) can I invite you all to join me in watching one of the very best Young ones episodes, 'Sick'?

You did, sir.  Really loved it.  A lot more emotional than I was expecting it to be.

Bunny, are you from the USA?

If not, does the line in that movie where Flash introduces himself to Ming as, "Flash Gordon, quarterback New York Jets" generate any laughs?

Here in America whenever I watch that film with people, we all find it to be amongst the funniest, greatest lines in film history. That's not an exaggeration. It really is an astonishingly funny line (it would take years to explain why, has to do with the Jets which needs years and years of knowledge of that team to fully understand the joke).

Just curious, does that line mean anything to you? If you don't recall the line, then my theory is correct: it is only brilliantly funny to Americans.

The US version of Shameless, cracking on with the ninth series and it's still great!  Very funny and somewhat sad in places (no spoilers!), this is really one of my favourite shows of the last decade...

Just gave the new SkyOne show 'Curfew' a watch, mainly because some of it was filmed, quite literally, about three minutes walk from where I live.  Ah, when your hometown gets used for a show about a depressing dystopian future...  ;)

What an oddity.  It's like someone couldn't decide whether they wanted to rip off the 'Fast And Furious' movies or 'The Walking Dead' and just decided to crowbar the two concepts together with little regard for how much sense it made.  They got a great cast together.  There's some of the worst CGI in recent years.  To be honest, I'd have given up after episode one if I didn't want to see those scenes filmed in my neighbourhood... but, hey, some awesome shows have had dodgy first episodes so I'll stick with it.  Trailer here...

The Godfather 3

I watched it a little while back and it isn't as bad as it's made out to be...  just an example of how a 'pretty decent film' falls down in comparison to two utter masterpieces...

Just carrying on, right now, with the new series of 'Shameless USA'... still great and somewhat heartbreaking at the moment...

So, who saw 'This Time With Alan Partridge'?  Big Steve Coogan fan here and Mr P is one of my favourite comedic characters ever... still, I'm a bit in two minds about the new show.  Some very funny / awkward moments (and the actress playing his co-host was excellent) but it's like the movie that was out a few years ago... kind of 'meh'...  :-[

Still, the series might improve so I'll stick with it...
