It was a reference to the episode of 'The Young Ones' that I bought up (the character Neil smashes up a record player, does a double take at the record he just broke and says 'Oh No, Steve Hillage')...  quite an obscure one as it happens, I'd never heard of Steve Hillage!   

Do you suppose someone on the Young Ones team was a bit of a fan?  I'd put money on Ade Edmondson, he was always a bit of a muso...

Wow, showing my age now,Steve Hillage former guitarist with Gong,also played on the live performance of Tubular Bells at The Elizabeth Hall.Despite being a brilliant guitarist (and Hippy )  ..he got very involved in electro dance music,working with The Orb and other early techno artists.He now performs as System 7 with his partner Miquette Giraudy (also formerly with Gong).........as you say probably Ade may have been a fan.

Just watched 'Unbreakable' for, I think, the first time since I rented from Blockbuster on VHS.  Didn't like it much back then.  Watched it again because I downloaded 'Glass' which is the sequel to both Unbreakable and the excellent Split from the same director.

Damn, Unbreakable is such a great film.

Hey, I'm as surprised as you are!  I suppose it was one of those instances where a film doesn't grab you on first watch and you just don't bother again...

Can't wait to watch 'Glass' though, trailer below...I'll report back tomorrow.

And, as per my previous post, 'Glass' was well worth a watch.  Proper follow-up to both the previous films, it's a nice end part of a trilogy that wrapped everything up.  But DO watch Unbreakable and Split if you're thinking of watching it!

Really like that one too but, I agree, it had flaws, not least the way the editing goes so mental towards the end (seriously, I watched it on DVD and thought that the disc was playing up!) but it's a fine sci-fi flick with a great cast.

For me, I just finished watching 'Reservoir Dogs' for the first time in donkeys years.  You know how a film can get so ingrained in popular culture (and gets ripped off so many times) that it now gets regarded as a cliche, even though it was quite fresh at the time?  RD is such a movie.  Watching it for the first time in probably over a decade, I was really surprised how great it was.  Terrific performances throughout, a script that's almost perfectly set out... loved watching it all over again.  Although Jackie Brown is still my favourite QT film...
