And seeing as I can't stay away from the fine works of Brian De Palma, I think that Casualties Of War is just about to get shoved into my eyes...

OK, this looks like being a fun watch.... 'The Boys' on Amazon Prime.

If you're sick of superhero movies, this might be the show for you.  An eight-episode thing based on a comic book... basically it's a 'what if' thing, in this case 'What if The Avengers weren't all nice and heroic guys but were, in fact, a bunch of absolute nasty c**ts and some normal people tried to take them down'?

Just watched the first two episodes, very funny, very sweary, very bloody (and a bit disturbing in places), I think a few of my friends here will enjoy this one... trailer below.

(Also nice to see Anthony Starr, from the brilliant Banshee, in a new role!)

A good recommendation here Master Ray. I was about going "in die heia" when i read your post and checked it out. Too tired to make it through the third episode, but it is a promising show! Was very pleased to see that Seth Rogen is producing it.

Going to bed I think MR
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

Genau!;-) "In die Heia" means to go to bed.
And i'm now at episode 6 and it really, really has some powerful moments. Very good dialogues, what they say and how they say it in the context of the situations, about bringing the story further, is just painful good sometimes. The setting of the super hero world being smashed so insightful and the story twists are very often surprisingly consistent.

Thanks, pal.  Gonna check out a couple more episodes tomorrow but I'll be still behind you, so no spoilers, eh?   ;)

The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan....a bit of a comedy travel show. Really good show, helped by his Zimbabwean guide who was a genuinely nice lady. Well worth a watch

Finished The Boys yesterday. I loved it, but i must say that, though i wouldn't call it a violent show, when there is violence it really is disturbing. And i mean gore-like i don't-want-to-see-this-disturbing! And that's me saying it, one who liked to be a gorehound and splatterpunk in those video-nasty days  8)

@Bunny
Hey! That was almost a sentence!;-) But if you get what "in die heia" means, then you have a good initial position to be treated well as a two year old in germany;-)

Saw a faboulus documentary about:

Klaus Dinger - Urvater des Techno

This link goes to the geman ARTE - version, i don't know if there is an english version.
He was the drummer of NEU! and Kraftwerk.

Für Dinger ist Rhythmus wie das Leben: „Es geht darum, weiterzumachen.“
For Dinger Rhythm is like life: "It's about to keep going."

This docu had many statements about drums and tribal rhythms by Iggy Pop, David Bowie, the guy from Primal Scream/Jesus & Mary Chain, the drummer from Joy Division....with plenty of cool footage and sound.

A recommendation for those who like experimental, powerful drum driven, minimalistic music from the 70's.

I now have to buy a NEU! Album.

I'm afraid I fell out with Family Guy a few years back, just because I thought it had run its course, but it used to be hilarious... mind you, I stopped watching The Simpsons over a decade ago and that still seems to be going strong!

Also, just watched the last episode of 'The Boys' and it really is terrific, funny and sometimes a bit disturbing... again, your old pal MR recommends it!
