I'd say 'enjoy', but that's probably not the word...  I'd say 'appreciate', it's a superb movie but one that'll probably leave you rather shell-shocked.  I'll also say that (a) I hope you've stayed away from trailers because those I've seen give away half the story and (b) I REALLY hope you ordered the French original and not the truly dreadful US remake...  ;)

Be very interested to what you think of it!

I think its best left as is. Its a one off film and made more powerful by being so. Dear God, I hope they dont tarnish it with a franchise
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

Master Chef a show i really enjoy but ruined every time by my two pet hates.....1,if i were a chef it would really piss me off to have a **** like Greg Wallace who is NOT a chef telling me what was wrong with my dishes, having someone like Monica and Marcus being critical is fine two of the finest chefs in the world...2, every time they mention Sea Bass there is no such fish as river bass , all bass come from the sea it seems a modern thing some of the finest line caught bass are caught in the waters of Jersey/Channel Islands it was always called bass, never sea bass...rant over.  >:(...

From what I can gather, Mr Phoenix has said he won't do another one.  The cast for the next Batman movie is being announced and he doesn't seem to be in it... so far.

Have just watched Martyrs,it has to be one of, if not the most disturbing and violent films i have ever seen...i was pleased that the ending gave the brutal violence an explanation....a film i shall not be watching again in a hurry... :-\...

I would say 'glad you enjoyed it' but that's not the word is it?  Yes, it's immensely horrific and bloody but so are many other films and, quite frankly, they don't move me at all, it's just a lot of blood thrown at the screen.  It's the CONCEPT behind it all that is so disturbing... no spoilers here.  But you can't deny it's a superbly made and acted film, not some silly gorefest.

Hey, I warned you!   ;)

Agree totally it is a really well made film, and no blood and guts don't bother me either i know it's not real,as you say it's the concept that is very disturbing.I felt very uneasy about the beating scenes, but as i said before the ending explains all of this.............an excellent film, but hard to watch.Have you watched Switchblade Romance ?..if so is it any good ?..there was a trailer on DVD before film.

It seems that you have to become yourself a Martyr to watch Martyrs..;-)

Switchblade Romance is a powerful, scary film with a remarkable strong lead actress. I recommend that. I saw it first at the annual fantastic movie festival in cologne, and then they had a rule that you could get tickets cheaper if the movie had just started, so i sneaked in...and it was the first and only movie that got me almost jump-falling out of the chair, because of a well placed schock moment. I had to search for a korean version of the dvd, because it was totally cut here in germany.
ever tried. ever failed. no matter.
try again. fail again. fail better.
