Have just watched Andrew Marr try and i mean try to interview Bumbling Boris on the Marr Show, the look on Andrew Marrs face was one of sheer frustration as he refused to answer the questions put to him,i thought he came across as really rude and i don't think he did himself any favours at all......... ::)....

Well i have now watched Switchblade Romance (Haute Tension).which as a title i prefer sums it up perfectly..it is a tense as hell.Wow what a film, actually watched it twice, the film plus afterwards the film with commentary by Alexandre Aja and Cecile De France which was very interesting.A brilliant film very bloody but still very atmospheric a definite cut above most slasher films it is so much more than that......i would highly recommend it...great stuff...

Glad you liked that one! And it seems it left exact the kind of impression it has left on me. If you want to explore Aja further, i would recommend his remake of The Hills have Eyes, which i find also very good. And his remake of Piranhas is also one hell of a bloody-good fun-splatter. Those poor springbrake kids..but they had it coming...;-)

The Hills Have Eyes by Aja i found to be a very good remake. And the Piranha remake i even found better than the original, because after a rewatch of the original Piranha recently, i found it a bit too old, it has aged. The new one is very funny, and delivers all the goods of a popcorn-horror film, just better than so much new stuff, it's Aja who shows he knows his subject and delivers the fun from a fanside, which he undoubtedly is.

I do like Aja's films, the Hills Have Eyes and Piranha remakes were much better than the originals...

I'm sure I've mentioned it, but his most recent one. 'Crawl', is a great fun watch...

Just finished watching 'Lords Of Chaos', a rather good movie... it's about the Norwegian Black Metal scene in the late 80's and how the two principal figures got into a rivalry that resulted in church burnings and murder.  trailer beneath...

Be warned, it's extremely gruesome in places but it's well made and acted and, surprisingly, actually quite funny at times.  Not just for metal fans!

Was'nt sure whether to put this in the ''You know when you're getting old'' thread or this.. :)..''Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing''....what a great prog.this is, two men who have both had heart surgery fishing together and talking about life.Reflecting about things in the ''Autumn of their Lives'' (i suspect both are younger than me)..this from a person who only went angling with friends once when i was about eleven years old and could not believe how boring it was.(i have been out fishing on a boat at sea,now that is great).....superb viewing, really love it.... 8)....

PS have just checked and yes they are both younger than me.......

Watched 'Jojo Rabbit' today, a cracking good film.  Bizarre as it sounds, it manages to be both a wacky comedy and a moving Holocaust drama, both at the same time.  Basically, it's set in Germany during the dying days of WW2 where a little boy, desperate to join the war (and who has Hitler as an imaginary friend) discovers his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their attic.  Sounds a bit distasteful, I know, but it is both very funny and very moving.  Have a look at the trailer... best film I've seen in awhile.

Bit of a coup getting Scarlett Johansson in that film. Quite like Waititi's sense of humour since What we do in the Shadows. Its on my to watch list.

Storyville BBC4 ''Jonestown'' two part doc.telling the story /horror about Rev.Jimmy Jones and his cult.I know this has been covered many times before, but this was really well researched and made, with interviews and footage i had never seen before.A very disturbing film which ended with one survivor saying the current world situation is right for something like this to happen again, but on a larger scale........a very scary thought.
