Unreleased songs - where do they come from?
« on: April 14, 2014, 04:37:20 PM »
I recently discovered that I still have a very old CD-R of demos by NMA. There are quite a few tracks present for which no details are available and I hope to discover more about them here.

01. Poem
02. 24 Hours (Inst)
03. Betrayal (Inst)
04. Roly (Inst)
05. Ballad 2
06. Crash
07. Billy
08. Forgiven (Inst)
09. London
10. ACAB
11. Gatlin (Inst)
12. Deliver Us (Inst)
13. Blitz (Inst)
14. Master Plan (Inst)

I would like to be able to place each with it's corresponding album if possible.

This cd-r seems to be so rare, I can`t help you - Inst? 24 Hours? Gatlin?
Some more information, please - year of the producion of that cd-r or of the recording
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

The cd is a blank - store bought item, with mp3's of various bootleg albums on it.

The bootlegs albums are:

The Attack Demos
The Curse
Betrayal
Once Were Warriors
The Rose.

That's as much as I know, as I'm looking for the production details.

(Inst) = Instrumental Version

I've found all of them again on the web, in the hopes that some might have the relevant details attached as metadata, but have had no luck.

That`s easier - these bootlegs albums are better known
I thought I know all 5 - but the name of some songs are new for me ...

Can`t do a full check my archive before weekend, perhaps other fans can help you earlier  ;)

Is it really the whole band there or is it one of the Justin Sullivan and Friends gigs?

I've seen some old gig lists (there was actually a site dedicated to only NMA songlists at gigs) and think it's correct they have played ACAB as a cover song long, long, long time ago. It's not impossible but (said: ) very unusual if there is an odd oi classic in a songlist. Well, Justin is known to be into The Ruts too which isn't so far away.

They've played other covers too like We Gotta Get Out of This Place.

None of the tracks listed are 'Live' to an audience. They are all studio versions Rusco. The site/s you refer to are still up:

&

At the very bottom of Peter's page you'll see some of the bootlegs I mentioned and you can click to see what they contain. I've long considered Peter's pages as indispensable.

I'd also love to know when they're from...  found most of them via the internet and most of them are pretty good...

Hmm, with a bit of 'fairy dust sprinkled on the bastards...'  ;D there's the start of another LOST SONGS album right there...

We can live in hope...

Yeah. I'd see it so that these songs are kind of a focused list of "the most ever" unreleased NMA songs that no one hasn't ever figured out "where" they reside among the other production (now as the Lost Songs is done long time ago). I'm humbly asking: is there many of you who could recognize any of them?
Common knowledge? If discounting ACAB, I can't recognize any.  :)

EDIT: Ok, poor me. Didn't even recognize ACAB. Different song than what I thought.  :-X

All working groups will have a small army of rejected song ideas, and nearly all the songs you are familiar with have demo's in various stages of production.

I'm confident that the quality controller at NMA HQ has already given us the best material available.

That said, there are quite a few demos that are worth repeated listening...

The list above is merely the 14 songs out of 60-odd demo tracks that I cannot locate/intuit further details for. They do not occur 'in the wild' in such a sequence and are just listed for reference.

I agree.  NMA have stated, on so many occasions, that they're not a band to constantly look to the past...

That said, there are so many good tunes out there on those scrappy little demos...

As I said before, it'd be nice if some of those songs were tarted up a bit and released... LOST SONGS is one of my favourite NMA albums ever...
