To Go Or Not To Go - That Is The Question
« on: May 07, 2014, 10:20:38 PM »
Non scientific opinion poll I guess. I really fancy Alt Fest but it's not something I can persuade any friends to come with me too. So has anyone done a festival on their own? I've been to many but never alone and somehow it just seems a bit sad! I'm not sure what would be worse - not going and wishing I had or going and spending 3 days on my own as Norma No Mates and getting home thinking why the **** did I do that?

So anyone gone to one on their own and if you did how did you get on?

never on my own. i like to travel on my own. I am sure it would be fun to float like a butterfly around the festival and alight on whatever attracts your interest without the pressure of other's preconceived itineraries.

i probably get too messed up to travel on my sometimes. i always like to have someone at my back. not for trouble reasons or anything. i tend to be overly trusting of people, take them at face value. sometimes good to have someone with a different perspective but with the same traits.

Quite a few Army folk are doing ALT-Fest as opposed to B'Daze this year, so I'd suggest that you may not need to be 'doing it alone'.
Not sure if you are on the book of face, but if you are, put a coment on the unoffical Army board and I'm sure folks will give you the lowdown on meet ups etc  :)

Never been to a festival on my own, but plenty of gigs on my own... not a problem.

And if it's an NMA related event, I'm sure you can find friends... in Warrington, for example, I had drinks and chats with people like myself who I had never met before... I'd suggest sending out a message about yourself, find out who is going to be where, then put on your NMA t-shirt, show your colours and see who salutes them!   ;)

Go to a festival with NMA on the bill, wear  your NMA top, you will not be alone.  :)

I went to the Leeds festival once. Not on my own but didnt really enjoy it. I think I prefer to see my favourites individually. Less walking about aimlessly too  ;)
