The best / worst decision of your life
« on: May 21, 2014, 12:43:13 PM »
I don`t write much here, but I read the board regularly.....anyway.  ;)

I was driving home from office the other day and did ask myself: what was your best and worst decision of life (so far). Kind a very personal question and sometimes not very easy to say. For me....so far:

Best: meeting my wife years and years ago. Having children now.
Worst: entering the subway on a sunday morning, broken nose and loss of ability to smell and taste.

Mine is rather dark and both linked
Best decision finally breaking up with partner of about 17 years don't get my wrong it was fkin desperately difficult at the time Meant be homeless with only a bag of clothes and 1 cd (raw melody men) and a cd walkman to play it on. This lead on to me getting a new flat in a town about 10miles away and starting again where am now extremely happy with a new gf of the last 7 years, new mates and a place i can call home.
There worse decision was trying to stick the relationship out for so long but am proud i at least fought to make it work
Hope i haven't depressed you all too much lol

Dammit Pol - you beat me to it. Definitely the best decision of my life was leaving the ex even tho we had a 4 year old child. Yep ******* hard and painful but ultimately cathartic and with hard work and effort the best thing for my son too. Worst decision? Easy - starting smoking. Proably the only true regret I have and the only thing I would change if I had a Tardis.

Worst: years of sacrificing my happiness and well being to impress others. Not standing up for myself on several occasions in fear of upsetting others.allowing people to take advantage of me to avoid conflict. Never again though, I have enough self respec t now to not allow it again.

Best: healthy lifestyle and eating. Never smoking, drinking or abusing drugs. Living clean.

Damn, this may be too personal for the internet.

Moving halfway across the world by myself, starting a new life with only a few friends/contacts and just making the best of it. Best thing I ever did. Still here 5.5 years later, have a husband and a home, and a career that seems to be going somewhere.

The worst decision and biggest regret of my life is most definitely not getting Abattoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus when I could.
I mean it was so easy - all I had to do was pick it up - take it to the counter and buy it...So many chances but always on party days in other cities and I just didn't want luggage...

Now that is something I regret almost daily -

I guess the best decision was to take loads of acid when I was young...that was worth doing...

Both my best and worst decision of my life is the same thing... following your heart, as so many people have said before...

Best, because I've had some really cool and very funny times that so many old friends haven't done, they were choosing the 'comfortable' kind of option that have led them into rather dull lives...

Worst, because those same friends now have no worries at all about their futures, whereas I am, quite frankly, shitting it because things are bad and don't look like getting any better anytime soon...   :-[

Sorry, I'm moaning again... just wish I could have found some sort of middle-ground between the two...

 :(
