They didn't really get it then and I'm pretty sure that they still don't really get it now!

I'm trying to get another NME cutting here and I'm getting this message

You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.

Anyone any ideas why?

Who gives a bugger if the NME gave NMA bad reviews?  Said rag was poor then and is poor now.  I lost patience with it after a journo of theirs posited that without the new Metallica album (Load) that the record collections of everyone in the UK would suck.  I thought that spoke volumes about the quality of their "journalism".

Yeah Jack i know man - I'm completely with you - I don't post these for the quality of the journalism - there just things that well some NMA folk might want to see - some not - just posting em before they go.

ok it allowed that one - hope fully you can click on it and enlarge it to readable size - though I have to admit you might not really want to read it - I kind of think its worth posting for the very early mention of NMA here. That's all.

Ok part 2
part 3
part 4

ok - lets see if that worked.
And seriously, Jack i'm completely with you - I'm listing heaps of these things and just giving up on even glancing at the shit thats written - NMA get off lightly compared to Scorpions and UFO - load of rubbish I know.

Thick and fast tonight - watch out folks coming soon is an almost postive NMA gig review but before that heres a report on the travellers scene - I haven't read it (supposed to be working today not scanning NMA related articles  ???) but I remember years back reading it and at the time thought it was a sympathetic report.
This should go in the 'Everything Else' pages but I want to keep it in tune with the cuttings - and the cynic in me suspects that NMA only got that begrudgingly good review because NME wanted a few travellers who'd been forced into comercial culture via the criminal justice act to start buying the rag. (the review is in the same issue as this report)
While I'm at it I remember at the time getting mail from Chumba saying 'watch out - we didn't do what NME wanted us to - they are going to hate us soon' and sure enough NME hated Chumbawamba very soon after that mail.
Anyway - the travellers helped me out a lot when i was solo travelling - and I guess maybe a lot of us here who were hitching the country back then for whatever reason - to see this band or just to escape...

Ah bollox I'm getting that ******* message again
Won't let me post
Ok
back to the day job
If you want the traveller thing its an 8 page report that I'll try and post if there is more than one person here wants to read it - if not forget it. Let me know here if you want to read it.
not gonna try the live review now...later
x
