Sweden / October
« on: August 16, 2014, 08:58:05 PM »
Ok, it's quite early to put up a thread for a Swedish part of the October tour, but here it goes!
Anything concerning Stockholm / Malmö / Gothengurg (Göteborg) gigs is welcome here.

We travelled to Stockholm last time on March when the gig should have been there. Found some exciting places; cheap hotel, excellent restaurants and easy travel routes via underground or by a walk. The best part of Stockholm is for sure Södermalm (southern city area under the "old town"). We also met some great Family friends like jsyirish and his friend there.

It's gonna be great days then in October! Anyone joining?? Fransson, Mia, others...?  :)

The Sweden's tour part is gonna be like this:

14th Göteborg, Sticky Fingers (SE)
15th Oslo, John Dee (NO)
16th Stockholm, Göta källar (SE)
17th Malmo, Babel (SE)

All i know is the websites selling tickets only accepts money from people from EU nations.  No paypal and set back ten years ago in the past.  I would like to go though and may have to chance a sellout and buy tickets at the door.

Hi there!
Me and my wife are going to Gothenburg (Göteborg).
I'll follow this thread to see if there will be info about a pre gig meeting somewhere.
We're not from Göteborg though, so we don't know about any places to meet.

Looking forward to the gig!

Hej,

currently living in Uppsala, I can offer a few seats in my car going from Uppsala to Göteborg, Oslo and Stockholm (as roundtrip, sleeping on campsites).

So, if anyone needs a ride, let me know :)

Some links to good places to go in Stockholm:

Göta Källare The place where the gig is going to be!
Here is a map. The club resides in a corner of Götgatan which is sort of a main avenue of many pubs and restaurants. There's a hotel on the other side of the street of the gig place as well. Götgatan is mostly a centre of action in good ways. Södermalm resides near to that and it takes only 15 minutes walk through Folkungagatan and Renstiernas Gata to Skonegatan near to the park you could see in the map above. The park area is a lively, beautiful and humane place where people and families tend to spend their time on weekends in Summer. Some good footie pubs near to that too.

Sound Pollution
This is a great metal/rock/punk record shop in Stora Nygatan in the centre of the (very) Old Town in the middle of Stockholm. There are lots of old buildings and tight avenues. Better watch out you don't loose your money to tourist shops here...

Hermitage
This is a nice vegetarian restaurant at Stora Nygatan where you can get heeps of delicious food for a good price. Tasty...

Saluhall
Östermalm's Saluhall residing in northern Stockholm. If you're looking for some special delicacy on you plate and your not a veggie, then this might be for you. It's a hall full of special shops.

Edit: I updated the link text above. It's Saluhall, not Tysta Mari.

Thanks for the veggie tip-off, I was not expecting to fare too well in that respect!

Btw, does any of you know if the tickets bought for the orginal march shows are still valid as they are? Or do I need to exchange them somehow?

Btw, if you have some time in Stockholm, the Wasa museum is quite worth a visit. You´ll get quite immediate why this ship didn´t go very far ;) It´s really impressive though, a beautiful piece of art!

Does anyone know if there is an alternative site to buy tickets?
They don't like foreign debit or credit cards. I hate buying at the venue.

Good to know Viv, thanks :)

Amandistan, oh crap! Sorry to hear that. Have you tried "Tickster"? I just quickly read on their website that you can contact the customer service when you have problems paying.

support@tickster.com
http://www.tickster.com/sv/support/5
http://www.tickster.com/sv/support/7

It´s in swedish, but contact them with your question, most swedish speak excellent english :)

I have and it seems that they can not accept my card due to it not having a micro-chip and being secure enough.

It simply because American cards are behind. You still have to sign to buy anything. I am getting someone to get them for me so it will work out fine.

Hope you will get your ticket, Amandistan! Great to know people are coming there. :)

Ava Enturin, as a local you might be a person who knows the best places to have a pre-gig meeting or something? In the case if there's something you would like to recommend to us.

Hej Rusco,

I´d be delighted to recommend something - but I never was in Göteborg, actually. Living in Sweden nearly 4 years now, and now making my first trip down south!

However, I can try to investigate and ask around here if someone knows a nice pub :)

I know that there are pubs and restaurants close to the venue (Sticky Fingers) in Gothenburg. Can't recall any names though!
Just a quick search on the web gave me this: https://www.google.se/maps/search/pub+n%C3%A4ra+sticky+fingers+g%C3%B6teborg/@57.7014014,11.9639544,15z
