Hebden Bridge 25/10/14
« on: October 26, 2014, 09:34:26 AM »
Fantastic setting last night for the gig, although as Justin said I think more than a few us were a little spooked by the surroundings.  Both Joolz and Justin did fantastic sets and the acoustics only added to the richness of Justin's voice.  Didn't get home until after one but the long journey was so worthwhile.  Now roll on the Christmas shows.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Saw which was the winning side still I joined the other

Yes great show last night. Didn't 't expect the venue to be like that. I thought it would be just a plain church hall, not actual pulpit pews etc. Has anybody got Justin's set list?

Was a truly special night.  Green and Grey was outstanding, it is the first time I have ever seen JS play it solo, quite a fitting place to hear it.

Long wait for the train back to Leeds though.

I recorded Justin's set on the phone, because the crowd was so quiet it is relatively clear listenable, though not the greatest quality.

I was my first ever time hearing Joolz perform and was very impressed. It was very emotional too.

He did not have to tell any audience members to shut up either.  Very respectful audience. The church settings seemed weird though. I am probably not worthy of stepping into a church.  :)

Suprisingly they sold beer which I thought  is against the Baptist religion

Great and very emotional night.
Actually the acoustic version of family life brought me to tears. I had never heard it live ever.

What a fantastic unique night.

Was a really odd feeling being in Church, beautiful church - but weird, and beer in the pews felt downright naughty  :) But it did mean we were all quiet and attentive!

Listening to Joolz in there was mesmerizing. The way that ladys words and voice can captivate an audience is quite remarkable. I'd forgotten just how good she is. Proper goosebump moments.

As for JS, well I reckon that's about as close as you're likely to get to what it would be like to have him sat there in your front room strumming away. Gorgeous.

A very special night - thanks to all concerned.

Bloody long drive home today though  ;D

Nice one Scruff cheers.

Like many many others, I am green with envy for not having been to either of the two shows, but very pleased for those of you that went  and had great nights.  :)

If any of you did use the dreaded Ipod and record a track or two, please send a link if you have uploaded anything to Utube

Me and my girlfriend were lucky enough to be at both Kidderminster and Hebden Bridge and fantastic gigs they were too. For me Hebden was the better of the 2, we were on the second row of pews so had a cracking view and the sound was superb.

Only second time seeing Joolz read and she was great, just a shame she didn't do longer but she did say she had a cold so can't blame her  :)

Justin's set was superb, the first time I have heard him play in (near enough) silence and it was stunning. Before Green and Grey he 'let us into a secret' that there was no 'bus ride that meanders', it was the rail journey along the valley through Hebden Bridge that he said he took his inspiration from. He did ask that the audience didn't sing along, unfortunately that was lost on a few tuneless souls on the balcony :) Shame really.

2 great gigs, both very different but superb in their own ways. Back to earth with a bump now, roll on the documentary screening and Rock City in December!

The people sat in front of me in Hebden Bridge probably got the entire gig on filmed on  their phones. I am guessing it's likely on YouTube.

Thanks very much for that. Certainly passed by  what would otherwise have been a boring half hour at work. Good sound quality also. Particularly liked " One Bullet"

Best get back to work  :o
