Seems about 50/50 on this one...

On a slightly divergent note, it's the anniversary of John Lennons murder... I still remember that day. I was a small boy coming down from his bedroom, ready for school and found my mother crying about some bloke called John Lennon... wasn't quite sure who he was...

Anyone got any memories of that day?   ???

I remember looking out the window in the morning, someone was looking at a Newspaper, I noticed that the front page was just one picture which was unusual at the time. I then later found out who the picture was of, and what it was all about.  :'(

I remember still the face of the manic who murdered Lennon. I read an article about it then from some kid's rock magazine. Was so young and didn't understand the thing quite well in that age.

Beach Boys  ;). Nah the Beatles Id say did one no-one did before and Id agree that some of the early stuff consisted of 4 words repeated throughout the song. Simple but catchy pop music.
The Stones were more rock/blues. I cant honestly pick a favourite. Like some stuff from both but equally dislike some.
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

On the subject of 1960's British super groups, personally I rate "The Who" over "The Rolling Stones"

Sorry,
don`t forget The Animals and "Winds of Change"
What a cover version of "Paint it black",
(not to mention The Black Plague, Hotel Hell and ...)

Top 10 lp at that time and still now one of my top 50 !

I'm into DP. Well they did only three albums in the end of 60's but listened to all of their first 10 albums in the eighties.
