Any Mention Of Snow In NMA Songs?
« on: January 26, 2015, 07:02:09 PM »
Here in New York we are getting more snow than even Pluto gets. They say we will be getting over 30 inches (for you Europeans who use the metric system, that means we are getting six kilometers of snow piled on top of us).

Justin Sullivan routinely peppers his song lyrics with "stormclouds," "whirlwinds" and all manner of meteorological discomfort. Well, anyone think of any New Model Army songs that mention blizzards and snow?

I think clouds, or sky was mentioned in the start of Wired. But yea, there are lots of them; Running in the Rain, oceans etc.

Trees in winter ( kind of )

This was in my mind too.

I heard today about the "snow storm" coming there to States. I thought there's actually not such word used in Finnish. That's because we've used to have snow nearly the same amount (30 inches ->) approx. 76 cm's quite often. (Well not now or last two years.) That's a lot of snow, but here you need some heavy winds too that you could call it a "storm".  ;)
A screaming comes across the sky

Caslen

And everything is witnessed
Through moving panes of glass
Winter sunlight flashing through the trees
Christmas lights and snow to come
Falling soft and silent like a wish
Or a blanket on the years

Sleepless dreams like drunkards
Trying to stagger home
All across the empty land
And the things that I was sure of
Are buried safe away
Deep in the frozen ground

Yeah, this one is coming with the heavy winds, too. 50 to 70 mph winds. It's beyond a snow storm, beyond a blizzard. They are labelling this one historic already. Worst snow to hit New York City.

Very, very odd in NYC. Everything has been shut down. Subways, trains, all Broadway shows, two pro basketball games, all schools and college...the  biggest city around is being completely closed for the next 24 hours. They have even issued a ban on travel for the night. Almost a curfew (but it won't be enforced).

This blizzard will come down on over 35 million people around here. From New York up to Boston a lot of people are shut in. Nine months from now...well, you know what's going to happen. I know a girl who is a Blackout Baby (kids born nine months after our huge blackout are labelled that), soon we will have Blizzard Babies.

No problem, be sure it's the version from the BD3 EP though, as the Lost Songs version is 'only' instrumental

Some of us Europeans still use the imperial system.

I have to at work, one of the few industries that rely on it, always have done and always will

30 inches is equal to 762mm for those who didn't know
