How, when and where do you get on this Forum?
« on: February 04, 2015, 08:22:57 PM »
So... what are your Forum-bothering habits?

For me... I get here in the early evening, UK time.  I don't have a smartphone... heck, my phone is so antique it might as well have a dial on the front.  So I can only post here when I drag my knackered, falling-apart laptop out after a days work... expect my usual ridiculous posts to cease any day soon (for a bit) when my laptop finally gives up the ghost...  :-[

You?  Are you hooked on the latest posts with your fancy-ass communication device?  Responding every time you get some bleep or other?  Or do you lurk on the sidelines, awaiting something that you can scatter your fine words over?  Or something inbetween...  ???

Be interested to hear how this Forum interacts with your life...

 :o

On my laptop. Which runs through my telly along with the xbox and stereo so usually whenever I'm home there's windows open all over the place one of which is often this place and I flick backwards and forwards all the time depending on where my irritable brain syndrome takes me.

No smartphone  cos I'm a luddite as far as those things are concerned

Mainly post evenings but will read posts in the daytime. Generally only post if ive got a strong feeling about something or lightweight throwaway posts I guess

Sort of related, how do you use the forum ? I always click on - View the most recent posts on the forum. Whereas I know others who go into the main categories and see what's new that way.

Usage wise, sort of on my laptop most of the evening half watching telly potentially all evening, well into the small hours, and at work, I am at a computer most of the time, and often have a butcher's.

Don't own a mobile phone, smart or otherwise.

at a computer most of every day, particularly at the moment.

i try to read most threads. some fall by the wayside since they require deeper thought. i even owe one poster a PM for about 3 weeks which i have some of finished in notepad and will get to it one day soon....hopefully.

i can check in regularly and reply to ones that i can comment on or have a laugh

i have smartphones coming out of ears but seldom use them to browse the internet. and i have introduced a rule to get rid of the terrible fomo syndrome.

i even deactivated facebook since here is the place where my need for social media is satisfied very time.

On laptop at home, never accessed forum by phone though

Times i get on are dependent on shift patterns as I work on the railways and can work any time of day or night and most weekends.

I've been a tad more active on here of late as I'm on my 3rd week of sick due to a lung infection, at least I've had something to laugh about thanks to a certain thread poster  :) :)
Is is a crime to believe in something different?

I meant what I said at the time that I said it

Actually Both my smartphone and my lap top.As for when I get on to this forum it depends. I don't bring my laptop to work . I use to but I found it to bulky when in my car as I am a courier I always carry my cell phone and I work very early morning hrs so when I have a break between stops I will look in on the board  thru my phone and check post. at this time as I type this I am at home on my Laptop that is where I mostly check the board from early afternoon thru the nite. If home and on the weekends I use just the Laptop don't need the phone. 8)

Solely through my smart phone, my laptop been broken for ages (software/windows) problem. Don't even have a landline let alone broadband n don't really want either of them. I've never been into computers n a phone is much easier for me to use. Look in at mainly in the afternoons and evenings and normally click on the new posts from last visit and reply from there.
Can't believe that shush doesn't have a mobile wow nice one and Anna your not a Luddite if you have a laptop, a xbox one all connected to your smart tv that is connected via wifi to your broadband lol (just saying n no offence meant)

I use me Macbook air. I have only owned it for four days so before, I used an Asus P.C..
When traveling I use a kindle fire but that's now being replaced with the Macbook as well.
I used the smartphone only if there is a debate I am taking part in. Getting into more detail, I will do that from the toilet at work. Simply because It's the only way to get away for a minute and it's seated. :)

I check it after work. If I work a night shift, it's usually 3 A.M.. On a day shift 1800 hours.
Where I'm from is not my home, and neither's where i'm bound.

I only have access to the forum once or twice a week which is why I usually don't take part in too many discussions. I'd feel like a bit of troll as I usually can't reply for a while. I do read a lot of the posts though.

I guess I could access it via my smartphone but it seems like a pain in the arse to type anything other than short messages on those things.

As a freelance muso, a  lot of my time is spent at home, preparing for the next project. Which often involves research, which means I have my laptop on most of the day. (I may also use it for playing silly games on Facebook, but let's not talk about that.)

So I guess I check in here roughly 4-5 times a week, usually late morning or early afternoon, and almost always when I'm supposed to be doing something else.  ;D

Yeah how does Shush get away with no mobile?, If only................ And it's just smart phones I have some sort of phobia about, I think it's because of the numpties who dawdle about weaving all over the place because they are unable to tear their eyes away from the screen  ;D

Even when I had a free to use works mobile with my last job I hardly ever used it. When I am at work there is a land line, and at home. If I am out with the missus, she has a mobile if someone needs to contact me. If I am out with friends, I don't want to be contacted  :)
