Peter Vaughan

Star of the TV show Porridge

https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2016/dec/06/peter-vaughan-star-of-porridge-and-game-of-thrones-dies-aged-93

Great actor, not a household name but always good value.  Nice to see him, even at 93, playing a significant role in the worlds biggest TV how, Game Of Thrones...
... but at what point does it stop being CPR and start being like trying to reanimate a corpse?

Such a sad thing to hear  about Greg Lake going thru my Progressive Phase King Crimson and ELP were staples in my music collection. 3 of the finest musicians I have seen. and 2 of them have passed. :( RIP Greg. 8)

All those lost in the Berlin Xmas market attack. Can't comprehend how terrifying it must have been, I often visit the market in Glasgow, where its a relaxing chance to try different foods etc .

True that, Pol. Kinda sickening to see various factions in the media using it to emphasise their own personal viewpoints.

Couldn't agree more! That makes me so mad - and it scares me more than any terrorist threat ever could, I think - reading all the comments... >:( :-\

Sad about Mr Parfitt, was a big fan as a kid.  Quo are one of those bands who are generally regarded as a bit naff, but they did some excellent stuff over the years.

I was suspecting we'd be mentioning Carrie Fisher after her having a massive heart attack on a plane... she's still hanging in there, The Force is strong in this one!

Can't say I'm a fan, but George Michael died today...

Never owned one of his records but he was a big figure in popular culture when I was young and happier and thus I feel a bit sad at his passing at only 53...

53 fcking hell , that's a heavy dose of mortality there. Yes like probably nearly everyone on here, I was never a fan . He seemed to have his personal demons the last few years, think he probably just wanted to a ordinary guy some days, I guess you can never escape when your that famous. So respect and rip from me.

Always had a soft spot for George despite sadly having to listen to "Last Christmas" on rotation at work every year.  He wasnt frightened of making his politics known either.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABhZQ_VRbsQ
