some double-barrelled Tara. Died alone and was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year. I can't help but think about the terrible loneliness in this.

Aw, Bill Paxton?   :'(

A superb 'everyman' actor, not a household name but always great.  He was in too many excellent films to mention, but 'Near Dark', 'A Simple Plan' and 'Frailty' (which he directed) are worth a couple of hours of anyone's time.

Only 61.  Damn.

Every time I see Bill Paxton I think of the first role I saw him play - Chet in Weird Science. He played the perfect annoying older brother. RIP. Another one gone too young.

Haven't watched Weird Science since, probably, the 80's on VHS.  Must get on that.

Sad to hear of the passing of John Surtees - the only person to win world championships in motor bikes and f1 cars , definitely a legend

Anther sad one for us movie buffs, Michael Parks (the best actor that most people had never heard of) passed away today.  He did a lot of stuff over the years, much with Tarantino and a couple with Kevin Smith.  Gonna post one of his best scenes, from 'Red State' (a film inspired by the Westboro Baptist Church, so some might find it offensive, be warned!) but it's one of the best performances I'e ever seen...
