Sad news indeed.  Fantastic drummer.  A couple of mates of mine met him and said he was a really nice guy as well.

Still pissed off with myself that I never got around to seeing Pantera live...  :-[

Genuine gutted to hear about the death of William.  Death has certainly haunted this family with the death of his father Robert and his uncle Joey . God knows how his brother Michael feels . Tragic how 1 family have paid the ultimate price for sport.  RIP .

Yup, very sad if not unexpected in terms of recent news about her health.  Truly one of the absolute greats.   :-[

Big news over here in the States. News channels are devoting a lot of time to Miss Franklin.

Me, I prefer Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, Marilyn McCoo, even Whitney for best female vocalist. Aretha's voice was BIG...but not sweet at all, not feminine. Whitney had just as big a voice...but hers was soooo sweet and wonderful.

Sad one from my childhood, but British TV sci-fi fans from late 70's / early 80's might be saddened to hear about the death of Jacqueline Pearce, who played a great villain called Supreme Commander Servalan throughout four years of 'Blakes 7'.   :'(

Funnily enough, I watched a couple of early episodes quite recently, and despite the low-budget production values (I seem to remember reading somewhere that the SFX budget was £50 per episode!) it was a surprisingly dark show for one aimed at the 'Doctor Who' audience... heck, episode one had the main character being framed as a paedophile!  And the ending of the very last episode kind of traumatised me as a kid...  :-[

Indeed. Just heard. Burt to me is 1970's American films personified. "Mean machine" my favourite B-R film.

Cannonball Run- loved him in it bouncing off Dom DeLuise.
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen
