OK, this might only resonate with UK folks of 'a certain vintage'... but Bobby Ball, one half of hugely popular 80's comedy duo Cannon and Ball, died today, apparently from COVID.

Genuinely saddened by this celebrity death.  Saw C+B live a few times when I was a kid with my parents, back when they were a huge selling act.  They fell out of popularity over the last three decades, reduced to being a 'has-been' act.  But they started headlining my local theater in the annual Christmas pantomime over the last few years and, blimey, they were just superb.  Decades of comedic experience, from little working mens clubs to huge theaters and back again, gave them the experience to make packed out houses laugh their arses off.  I've seen many. many live comedians and they were right up there with the best (and certainly WAY better than more fashionable and piss poor comedy acts....)  ::)

Even met Bobby and Tommy a couple of years ago, really nice guys, I was my six year old niece (she'd loved the show) and they made a fuss over her and she was made up.  She was looking forward to this years panto...  :-[

Anyway, that's my rant, RIP fine sir.   :'(

Was sorry to hear of his passing. Remember all the lads at school circa 1981 saying "Rock on Tommy". I liked him in recent years in "Not going out".

Rock on - Bobby.

Sean Connery

The man who would be king.

R.I.P.
Superb film with two superb actors. Shame he retired from acting several years ago. Strip away the personal life controversies and that was a man that made you beleive his character. Loved his films.

Des O'Connor.....what an awful year this. Not my kind of comedy but seemed a genuinely decent bloke.
