Just been on the Premier Inn website, looking for anything close (because I know many of us stay at that fine chain of hotels when there's an NMA gig in town) and there isn't a single room within a ten mile radius...  I guess United and City are playing that night...    :'(

Really ? already !!. Can't remember where, but it was a fair distance from the venue we stayed in last time. Might have to look further afield again.

Last November when asked about Rock City 2015, JS said he was thinking of doing something different this Xmas. Plus when doing Rock City in Xmas in the past they have announced it in January.

Also, would you really plan in two high profile shows, in the same month and in a 'relatively' close proximity....

Just booked a hotel room with Holiday Inn Express just down the road from venue not cheap but I least I won't get lost.

Regarding where to stay in Manchester, the tram isn't far from the venue so there are places a bit further out of town which are accessible.  Not sure what time the last tram is due back but I'm pretty sure it's well after any concerts have finished.

Upper Brook Street Travelodge is just a few minutes' walk from the venue, has plenty of parking and still has rooms (although at £59 so not super cheap). I've stayed there plenty of times for gigs at the Ritz, it's not one of the shoddy Travelodges.
