Why can't we say the f-word anymore on this Forum?

We used to able to say that fine English word (used since the 15th century) here but just recently it's been blanked out... :(

Seems like the likes of '*******' or 'motherfucker' are fine... but a singular use of that word is suddenly not OK...  I seem to remember that the 'Swearbot' used to blank it out... what's changed? What the ****?  Oh, there it goes again!

Has the Swearbot suddenly become self-aware?  Shit, can Skynet be far behind?

Note - I'm kidding, just genuinely interested why the rules on swearing seem to have changed here.  Although I'd still love to hear why a mild swear word that is an anagram of 'wakner' is one of the banned words...  ;)

I don't use it much in everyday life, unless very angry. Got no problem with whether it's useable on here or not.

Funny how the F word is considered mild now whereas as a kid it was once very offensive as was Bar stard. Like the C word is now. I remember Anthrax in sleeve notes for Starting up a Posse queried why words can be deemed offensive when they're just words and why is one ok and one isn't.
I guess breaking taboo's is the answer. That said I wouldn't want the littlun learning em.
