it gets silly, and away from things, we do need that though....

And if one fault could be found with New Model Army is that they do not "get silly and away from things" much. Not saying they are overly serious drips like a Paul Weller is, but their songs and videos do lack some good natured humor.

The winner will recieve a one dollar off gift card that you can apply to the purchase of my NMA CD "...& Nobody Else But Space."

Got some lovely artwork to go with that............. we could sell it to raise money for a chosen charity? All you have to do is agree to put your "music" out there.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age

Hey, cthulhu, I have to say my lyrics to "Caslen" are better than those that you wrote. Yours don't rhyme, don't have a refrain, no chorus, don't even mention the word "Caslen"! I appreciate your effort, but look at mine and try again.

You are too easy Space...

The Gretsch in 1 is this guy:

The Tele in Number 2 is this guy:

The Phantom in number 3 is this guy of course:

What do I get again?

Sorry Space your SG is missing a string lock on the nut, missing a floydrose tremelo and have the wrong pickups.

Oh yeah and the wrong pickguard.

Seconded.

It's also missing the man playing it.  Whatever Space is, he's certainly not a man who has made a career out of his musical and songwriting talents.

1. string locks mess with tuning
2. I can't stand that Eddie Van Halen stuff, I don't need no Floyd Rose trem
3. pickups? Mine are Gibson pickups...better pickups
4. the batwing pickguard is the coolest pickguard on in electric guitar history, I of couse have the batwing

The Gretsch in 1 is this guy:

You got Strummer and Ian Curtis correct, good job...but Depeche Mode????  ;D

Come on. I'm a New Yorker, I'm an ex-boxer...you think I'd buy a guitar because of Depeche Mode!?!

Hes known for playing that white Gretsch.
So whats my consolation prize?
Considering I had NO idea what guitar Joe Strummer ever played (Or Martin Gore for that matter) I think my sleuthing efforts alone deserve something.

Sure enough you're right about it, but it's still nowhere near Justin's SG, then my Sg with 3 duesenberg pickups, bigsby, batwing pickguard, 5 way pickup turnknob, 1 volume and 2 toneknobs in a strat setup are as much Justin's SG as yours, hell even my SG bass is as much the same.

So since I own 2 I'm more of a fan than you  :o

Well if you want to get technical about it, in the early glory days of the band -- the days I first came to love the band -- Justin usually was playing a Norlin era SG. That Norlin era is not a fondly remembered time for Gibson, but those Norlin SG guitars sure looked cool in a strange way. When setting out to buy my SG I actually looked at finding an old Norlin. They were grossly overpriced or in real bad shape so I just bought myself a new SG in a natural finish. That's close enough to get the NMA look and sound.
