Morocco

Has anyone ever been to Morocco?
What was it like?  Did it feel safe? Food good (I am nearly sure it is)? Were the people welcoming?
Was it easy to get around?   What area and cities did you visit? Has anyone been to Essaouira?

I ask because I find it fascinating and am thinking of losing my "Africa" Virginity there this winter!

After an Autumn in Romania!
Life can be good when you have nothing holding you back from going wherever you like.
Where I'm from is not my home, and neither's where i'm bound.

I went there in 1985 and loved it. Went to Tangier, Fez and Marrakesh. All amazing places. No idea what it's like now, though. I would recommend a male travel companion.
