Do you prefer to a more structured or relaxed life
« on: May 22, 2015, 02:52:54 PM »
I think this is a personality thing but which do you prefer and why?

for me I like structure and plans. It feel safer and you know what to expect. I like organization and plans.
I am living with hippies who lack organization at the moment and it just feels like a massive clusterfuck.

Where I'm from is not my home, and neither's where i'm bound.

It sounds to me like you have been living the last few months well outside your comfort zone. Very brave indeed!

I tend to be a creature of routine but I chafe within that routine; I'd like to live as I pleased, but then I'm fundamentally lazy and need routine to get on with things. When I'm on holiday I like to relax. But I have kids; they seem to need routine, especially my younger one, who has ASD, even on holiday.

I'd love a relaxed life, but my need to make money to keep a roof over my head and food in my belly demands structure...  :-\

Both. I could not relax until the structure is in order.

Well theres my enigma. I am very ordered generally. But equally I crave the relaxation I get and kick against any challenge to that. I think I pigeon hole my life. Which itself is orderly. Oh I dunno.....what was the question?? ;)

Unless your incredibly lucky life has to have a large amount of structure to it , we all live by the clock wether it cooking something or catching a train/ bus or many other things The natural order of sunlight and dark always rules. We all live to relax for most of it takes a lot of organization to get there

Have to admit I'm more to a structured, organized way of life. I'm constantly looking for things I could or have to do - whether at home, or outside in the yard. Making firewood, brushcutting, cleaning the yard, shredding branches, sawing boards, digging the ground or something. It's the same when having a summer holiday and we go, move, to the summer cottage for 2-4 weeks. I'll get bored if I'm not able to DO something there. I often take my things with me so I can build something there, nest boxes for birds, carve some wood, plan some sketch-up or I can make some art there if I have my tools with me.

At the evening I always want to have couple of hours just to relax. And when travelling, flying somewhere to gigs or something I don't have this way of "organizing" with time. :)
