Very sad news. I only knew him vaguely and spoke to him a couple of times, but I wish to pass my condolences to his family and everyone who was close to him.

May he rest in peace.
I met him once in Frankfurt last year. He seemed like a very nice guy.
Sorry for the loss

Hadn't seen Charlie for a few years, but we use to do lots of live show trading via the post.

Nice guy.

RIP

Very sad to learn of Charlie's death today.   I  hadn't seen him so much in recent years but it was always good to catch up with him in the bar or venue when he was out for a NMA gig.
I only really got to know him well back in 2006 when a few of us hired a bus to follow the band on a Scandinavian tour. I've been recalling some good memories of that trip this evening.

Never met Charlie myself, but its clear from the responses on here he was a good chap who is going to be  sorely missed. Best wishes to all those effected by the loss.

i'm really sad ...I met him in Koln in 2001, he was very nice. Last time I saw him was at la loco for a JS gig but he didn't remember me lol after at each nma gig i looked for him but never saw him again... in 2004 he sent me a pm to tell me to not worry about my friend Xav who was at hospital for heart problem....a few months ago i thought of him wondering if i,ll see him again...

Charlie was ever-present when I was in my touring days. I will always remember barelling up to him, well in my cups one night and greeting him loudly and cheerfully, without realising at the time I was bollocksing up his recording of the show. Then, as always, he was a gentleman and while being part of the touring set always meant being on one of several wheels within a greater wheel, our Charles managed to be a familiar face whichever corner of the crowd one tended to occupy.

I shall not forget him and neither will many, many others, across all of Europe.

Charles. A comrade. RIP.
